Nick van den Berg is EPBF Player of the Year 2012

The Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair Athletes have come to an end.

In the men's division, team Netherlands with Niels Feijen, Nick van den Berg and Huidji See won the Gold with a 2:1 victory over a strong team Finland which were Aki Heiskanen, Valteri Virtanen and Petri Makkonen.

In the women's division, team Sweden with Louise Furberg and Caroline Roos captured the title with a 2:0 victory over team Bulgaria with Marya Levova and Kristina Zlateva.

2013 Championships - Netherlands destroy Germany's last hope for a medal

Final day begins with team's quarter-finals

In a classic thriller, Team Netherlands defeated Team Germany with 2:1.

It is a historical event for Team Germany. It will be the first time that they go home from a European Championships without any medal. They have given their Dutch opponents a hard time though. Niels Feijen remained the upper hand with 8:6 over Ralf Souquet in 10-ball. Huidji See creamed Andreas Roschkowsky with 9:6 in 9-ball. At that moment in time, Sebastian Staab was leading 7:4 over Nick van den Berg in 8-Ball.

The Dutch team will now meet Team Great Britain in the semi-finals!

In another exciting team match in the men's division, Finland ousted defending Champion Spain with 3:0. Petri Makkonen defeated Francisco Sanchez Ruiz in 8-ball 8:6 and Valteri Virtanen prevailed over Francesco Diaz with 9:3 in 9-ball. At that time, the score between Aki Heiskanen and David Alcaide in 10-ball was 6:5 in favor of Heiskanen. The Finish team is a surprise winner and now meets Team Russia in the in the semi-final. The Russians have defeated the strong Polish Team with 2:1.

In the women's division, Team Poland consisting of Oliwia Czuprynska and Katarzyna Wesolowska defeated Team Russia with Anastasia Nechaeva and Anna Mazhirina in the shootout with 2:1.

Semi-finals between Austria v Bulgaria and Sweden v Poland in the women's division and Finland v Russia and Great Britain v The Netherlands will begin at 12:30 CET.

2013 Championships - Feijen dedicates title to his little daughter

The 9-ball finals in this year's Dynamic Billard European Pool Championships have been played. The new Champions are Niels Feijen (NED), Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) and Fred Dinsmore (IRL).

The men's final match was a contest between two equal players. However, Zoran Svi lar (SRB) committed four unnecessary fouls during the final match. That was simply too many when your opponent is "The Terminator" Niels Feijen.

Feijen lined up the final 9-ball at 8:6, went to his chair, got a little blues harp out, made some tunes, pocketed the 9-ball and stated: "This is for my Meisje!" Then he blew a big kiss into the camera. His meisje is his 2 1/2 year old daughter Lina that he dedicated this victory to. What a great gesture from a real champion!

In the women's final, Jasmin Ouschan was the dominant player over Line Kjoersvik (NOR). She lead 5:1 and 6:2 and Kjoersvik was never able to endanger her victory. 7:2 was the final result in favor of Ouschan who takes her second Gold Medal this week.

In the wheelchair final, Fred Dinsmore had a tough match with Tony Southern (GBR). At 6:5 for Dinsmore, both players engaged in a safety battle where Dinsmore had the better end on his side. The Irish won the final match with 7:5.

Tomorrow the final day will start with matches in the Team competition at 10:00 CET.

Feijen and Zvilar battle for the Gold

In the men's semi-final, Niels Feijen (NED) destroyed
Mateusz Sniegocki (POL) with 9:4. Feijen was simply too strong for Sniegocki who could never get to his A-Game.

Sniegocki committed two fouls in the first two racks and was easy prey for Feijen who capitalized from these mistakes without any mercy. After 13 racks, the match found a just winner in Niels Feijen.

He only missed one shot in the whole match and his safety play was much better than Sniegocki's. The Polish player seemed to be a bit tired and did not play up to what he played in earlier matches.

In the second semi-final of the men's division, Zoran Svilar (SRB) booked his ticket for the final match by hammering young Ivo Aarts (NED) with 9:1. Aarts was not too sad about this though since it was his first European Championships in the men's division and he achieved an A-status with the Dutch Olympic Committee since he achieved a 3rd place in a European Championships.

In the women's division, Jasmin Ouschan (AUT) wasted no time on Caroline Roos (SWE). The Austrian won 7:1 and left no chance to her opponent at any time in the match. The other semi-final in the women's division was much more exciting. Line Kjoersvik (NOR) had to work hard to finally get to the final with a 7:6 victory over Sandra Baumgartner (AUT).

In the wheelchair division, the final match will be played between Fred Dinsmore (IRE) and Tony Southern (GBR).
