I was trying to change the tip of my cue when the sand paper went over the shaft. The cue still plays well but it has a small crack or ding at the side. Can I do a repair?

I think we need more information... For a start, what is the value of the cue?

I have heard that a cheap cue isn't worth repairing though. It will cost more than the original price.I went over the shaft slightly and you can see a small hole if you look at it close enough.I am sure filling the hole with some 'wood' filling and making it smooth will make it look brand new.Trying to keep this cue.First cue ever!Means a lot!
