I happened to come across the following link, 60 sports and billiards is... 59 http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/page2/sportSkillsWe are behind the likes of Rodeo Calf Roping and Roller Skating It is very American bias (it is ESPN after all), but what would your top 3 toughest sports be? ----------------- Chris @ Pro9[ This message was edited by: Buckster_uk on 2007-02-27 18:50 ]

From a technical perspective...
1. Pole Vault 2. Gynastics, beam (women), rings (men) 3. Diving - 10 meter board
I have the utmost respect for anyone who performs well in any of these events.

Not surprised billiards came so low down the chart when considering the weight given to the ranking by such criteria as: ENDURANCE, STRENGTH, POWER, SPEED and AGILITY.
Not surprising, therefore, that sports like BOXING, ICE HOCKEY, FOOTBALL, WRESTLING, MARTIAL ARTS, TENNIS and GYMNASTICS rank at the top of the table - but I am still disappointed that we're only just above FISHING????????
Remove the "Jock" aspects from the chart we and perform much better, although it's great that billiards is a sport that can be enjoyed by all!

Totally agree Big Dave - even those who don't have the figure of a sportsman can enjoy Billiards. I even defied doctors orders, when he said 'no sport for 6 weeks' after getting a plaster cast removed. I was down the pool hall that very evening. Living on the edge. Speaking of Dangerous sports - Bull riding, Down hill skiing, 3 day horse event, power weight lifting, Ice hockey and pie eating. Boxing and martial arts don't really count because the idea of the sport is to hurt the other person. [ This message was edited by: expertfluke on 2007-02-27 23:13 ]
