We're now giving away a free tube of Super Glue with every purchase of tips made from The Pro Shop! This is just the start of many improvements that I have been wanting to implement for a while, but it's just easier to get things done when the whole operation is under one roof.

I just think that American pool cue tips are pretty expensive already, without the added expense of buying glue as well, and frankly, not only do you deserve it, but it's the least I can to for our loyal customers. So yes, I think we're the first to provide a free Super Glue tube for our tip customers.

Just our way of saying thank you!

Super_Glue

On a similar topic...

Does anyone know if Super Glue Gel by Loctite is now called Super Glue "Control" or is this Control stuff a new and separate product?

Has anyone used this "Control" stuff on a cue tip? Is it like Gel? I really like Gel, and if I can still get it I would prefer that - unless it's the same, and then, well, you know!

p.s. Please don't confuse this with the free Super Glue we are now giving away in The Pro Shop with every tip sale. That's obviously a more affordable, quick setting Super Glue - I just want to stock a superior alternative for customers who, like me, prefer a slow setting Gel Super Glue.

I recently saw super glue gel in Tesco and it was only about £1.80 or so, in the control container, I may be wrong but I think control is the name of the container it comes in, as there is a control and a control gel, which I think is liquid in a control container and control gel is gel in one.

You're right about American Cue tips being expensive Dave.... which begs the question, who in their right mind would pay all that and then risk it coming off by using a cheap glue?

Its got to be Locktite gel all the way.

Free glue may come in useful in an emergency.

Not everyone chooses to use Gel - I prefer it, and recommend it, and that's why I'm checking out the "Gel" and "Control" thing, so I can offer what I think is the best product for our customers, but it's "horses for courses" and I'm sure there are some who have never used Gel or would prefer not to use Gel for some reason.

Some people feel very confident, and even prefer to be in control when fitting their own new tips, knowing that they can spend as long as they like fitting it and have the confidence and satisfaction of a job well done that can only come from doing it yourself.

I guess I'm just motivated to give people - our customers - good value, choice and what I hope will develop over time into the best service in the industry.

I think they deserve it!

Don't use that 10 minute cement stuff....I retipped all the cues on our oil rig and within a couple of days they were all off. Any superglue is recommended, however the loctite gel is easier to work with.
Nice one from Dave to supply free glue though :-)

Yeah, I can't supply free Gel as it's too freeking expensive, but I do like it. The aim is to supply a free patch of glass paper too - when I can find a good quality product at a super low price, I'll buy a tonne of it and chop it into handy little swatches.

Just a bit of feedback, the glue you give for free is useless! I gave it a go re tipping my cue yesterday and it's way too watery. It wouldn't set no matter how long I tried to clamp it. I honestly don't think it would glue my fingers together!(I haven't tried :D) Ended up using loctite. I know it's free but if I ain't good enough then I would save on cost Dave and scrap the idea.

Maybe you should look for a cheap super glue gel Dave, I have seen these in pound shops or even cheaper and have used them and they are ok

Thanks for the "tip" (excuse the pun) - I'll check it out, although I may not be able to afford that... I don't really want to have to put the price of tips up to accommodate this freebie. I've already had to put them up to account for the 30% rise in postage rates from Royal Mail!

I'd also like to include a free swatch of good quality glass paper, or sandpaper - just a small but useful piece with each tip sold... Any recommendations for that?
