Have you seen how they rack the reds in "Power Snooker" - it's twenty seconds into this video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AtwE5fbhHnI

And two balls must hit the cushion on the break - where do they get the idea for these rules from?

;)

Do you reckon this will take off for snooker?

Great to see such innovative ideas being used! I understand there's another game about to come out called 'Pure Snooker'. It involves just 15 reds and a cueball, and each red potted counts as one point. The last red on the table becomes 'THE MIGHTY SPLITTER BONUS BALL' and you have to cannon into the re-racked reds off that last ball in order to continue the break. Crazy stuff!

Power Snooker sounds complex but I'm sure after watching a bunch of matches it would be easy to follow. It sounds exciting and my main complaint of Snooker has always been how boring it is to watch. "Pure Snooker" if it is for real sounds a lot like a game called "Straight Pool"...

I've also heard talk of "Ultra" Snooker where the colours have been removed apart from the black which is placed in the middle of the triangle, and half of the reds are actually yellow! That sounds good!

Looks like a fun version of the game and if its backed by Ronnie it has every chance of taking off

I would love a revival in snookers popularity but i realy dont think this is the answer. Imo they just need to get more people playing again, if someone plays a sport they are naturally more likely to watch it as they can relate to what they watching. Nobody will be able to play this down the local club as the4y wont have the power ball

Lol either The_Muse was joking himself and I've been had like a 'double-agent of comedy' or the meaning of Osama's post was completely lost on him :D

I think 9 ball on a snooker table would be good.

I want a game of Snoccer

would be better if the players you put in place looked like top pool players, i mean, how good would it be to play a carrom off boyes and appleton and score...all in the same shot :P

THE RULES OF THE TRADITIONAL GAME OF SNOOKER APPLY, SUBJECT TO THE FOLLOWING VARIATIONS:

• Nine reds are racked in a diamond, with the point of the diamond next to the pink.

• The middle red is the PowerBall, which when potted counts for two points and triggers a two minute PowerPlay during which every ball potted counts double – if a shot is missed during a PowerPlay, the player’s opponent inherits the remaining time.

• Each game lasts half an hour; the clock starts when the reds are broken, and stops as the final black of each frame is potted.

• A shot clock limits players to twenty seconds for each shot.

• If the twenty second shot clock is exceeded, there is a 20 point penalty and the initiative passes to the player's opponent unless the opponent opts for the player to continue.

• Points count, frames don’t. The most points scored after half an hour wins.

• When a player breaks, two or more reds must hit a cushion otherwise the player’s turn ends.

• The area behind the baulk line is the PowerZone – if the cue ball is struck from within the PowerZone, any colour potted counts for double and during a PowerPlay, quadruple.

• A century break in any frame is worth 50 bonus points. If this is repeated in the next frame, 100 bonus points. If this is repeated in the third frame, 200 bonus points.

• The “ball in hand” principle applies following a foul shot. The cue ball can be positioned anywhere in the PowerZone.

• A foul shot during a PowerPlay carries a double points penalty.

• A foul shot occurring when the cue ball is struck from the PowerZone and during a PowerPlay, carries a quadruple points penalty.

• The game will end after the half hour playing period and the player with the most points wins.

• If the game is tied on points after the half an hour, the table is cleared and the game is decided by potting the re-spotted black.
