Hi all, considering returning to the UK and buying a snooker club, just wondering what the current state of the snooker biz is like in the UK these days.
Are the clubs all struggling or would a well run room still earn a living.
Any input much appreciated, thanks.

lol PLEASE CONSIDER BUYING MY CLUB!!! it is horribly run... you could mistake it for a youth club sometimes! The owner doesn't know what he is doing :) most clubs are well run in UK just odd club (like mine) need good owners who know what they are doing!

One of the clubs I saw advertised basically said because of the down turn in popularity of snooker business is so bad the prospective buyer should consider turning it into something else! :D
That is why I was asking how bad is it?
I was thinking of buying a club that had a really good food potential and making that the focus of the business. I think there are other aspects that can be developed into the business to make it attractive. Even though there is a downturn in popularity of the game, people are still looking for leisure activities.
Where is your club and is it for sale ?

Your best bet is to involve pool and poker aswell in my opinion. Dont think an 'old school' snooker club is the way forward to be honest... Snooker just isnt popular enough any more

do it in london - put a couple of nice 9 ball tables as well as a couple of good snooker tables in. run some regular pool tournaments and poker ones. do good food. do reasonably priced drinks. which is everything rileys should be... cant go wrong
