Brilliant idea. It will give a truer picture of the best players in the year.

It does say theres 2 wildcard picks so probs wont effect Darren, since he was MVP last time out. Good system i think, could end up with 3 or 4 brits in the team

Correct bateman it's a good system Don't think Ben read it propely 2 out of the 6 euro tours already been played that count towards rankings ,then we got the 6 world events and the 3 euro tours I was going to play this year are on the list so I will only miss one or two euro tours, but the world events carry more points It's good that matchroompool are keeping a open mind with wildcards as the likes of mika and thorsten etc would only qualify if win one of the big events Hopefully I can qualify through the rankings and not need to rely on the wildcard

Love the idea. "The Race for the Mosconi" pops into my mind. ----------------- Twitter: @Darren_Foord [ This message was edited by: Dazza on 2011-01-28 23:19 ]

so with the last 2 eurotour's counting in the 'Race for the Mosconi' That means Chris Mellon and Darren Appletree are in pole postion with a win each? Great stuff im liking this. Come on the brits!!

Yeah, two Brits with a win each so far. Will matchroom publish the 'league table' throughout the year or will we have to work it out outselves?

I think the colour coded tables (blue for Europe and red for USA) make the article look very clear, and hopefully they are worth the wait! http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1500 Woohoo... I've edited my 1,500th article since I took over running the Pro9 site - I'll be cracking open a bottle of wine tonight! ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

This is a great system and will be a much better reflection of the best performing players than the nonsense the WPA are currently giving us. The black and white system for selecting the first 3 followed by 2 wildcards that will take into account rankings and probably who is in current form is both fair and flexible. This means all players get a fair chance to get in the side and also that the public get to see the players they really want to see. Well done Matchroom sport for saving our game yet again.
