Seems like gb9 have reduced the amount I hope the fees are same as this year. Not great that all events in Daventry it's pretty dead there compared to Blackpool for example but I can understand the reasons sort of.

This should be an interesting debate!
No longer a part of the tour but personally don't think it will be a popular move.

will this now be called something different? A tour needs more than one stop?
Suggestions....
GB9 Series Once every few weeks Daventry Knock Out?
Also, this is surely the poorest venue outside the tournament room. No night out, nothing in town centre etc. Poor poor place.

great venue, and more central for everyone, there to play pool not get drunk. how can it be southerners tour when daventry is centrally located, and a 3 hour drive from south coast. also not good to s l a g the tour on here as lee will point out, sponsors reading this. The 8ball players never have any moans about Hinckley Barcelo from what I've been told. Wouldn't this be suitable, even if it is more central?

Have you guys read your email from them? "After long and very careful consideration the GB9 Committee have decided to hold all five events at the Barcelo Daventry hotel for the 2011 season". Only one person has been sort of negative and he/she may not be on tour and could say what they want.

im not on the tour but hopefully will be this time, witht he reviews and feedback off people daventry sounds like the dogs things,as brett said you can still have a drink but its there to play serious pool, sounds like a good move or at least it can be applied this year and see what reaction it gets,if other venues arnt really suited,i.e lightning ,flooring etc and daventry is then surely it makes sense to run the tour from a venue that ticks all the boxes, not sure where the tables are kept or things like this but it maybe cheaper aswell to hold it at one venue, should be good imo
am sure there will be plus`s and minus`s from players but comittee will do the right thing for the tour

Must be hard thinking without the correct apparatus baz Daventry is by far the best hotel with the best facilities and if gb9 are saving on costs for shipping the tables up and down the country thi can only mean more prize money !

personally i think daventry was leagues above the other 2 we played in this year as i venue, my only concern is tht 5 stops is too little, will b long way apart, i didnt think 6 was enough tbh,

theres plenty of practice comps about in between gb9`s,really makes sense to limit overheads and use the same venue which is central,i know its not goin to but would be catastrophic if gb9 went awol,am lookin forward to tryin to qualify
