I just want to say a big thankyou to all of the volunteers who helped out with the set up and takedown in Daventry. Without these people the tournament wouldn't have happened. In no particular order and i hope i don't miss anyone off the list;
Paul Morgan (light technician extraordinaire) Michael 'Beer Belly' Brisley Ads and Jemma Steven & Susie Capaldi Martin Royce (and mum & dad at the end on Sunday!) Steve 'buff' Williams Matt 'I can't stay long or the missus will kill me' Hyden Mark Hughes Andy '20 minutes max' Warden and my personal favourite - Liz Dooley.
Take down record of 5 and a half hours with an hour break to watch the end of the main final.
We're always in need of volunteers for this so if you want to see what goes on to get these events up and running or packed away please let us know.
Cheers,
Jonathan.

Agree Unique was very hard work on the Thursday but to see the satisfaction that it gave so many players was a joy, and i know i speak on behalf of everybody who helped out on the Thursday and Friday.
As i said before the event was near on perfect conditions and the effort that was put in was well worth it for all the messages that are being recieved at the moment.
As Lee said before though, we are always looking to improve on before and hopefully the next event, at Daventry again, will be even better than the last, hard act to follow but we'll give it a darn good go.

At one point we had 2 world champs (Daryl and Boysie) sorting the curtains. Only on GB9!! Daryl's also had some invaluable input to the committee business over the past 2-3 years. I heard he got his hands dirty with chalk this time in Daventry

tony drago v ronnie couldnt pull that off if they tried one video link dosen't make a player !.....as for "monkeyboy" - you obviously no nothing about snooker in the N.E m8 ......(not surprised coming from "Darlo" mind you - not really a "hotbed" for cuesports) .....the NE has produced some of the best amateur players in the world - ie, Neil Mosley (World,European and English Amateur Champion all in one season) only Jimmy White has ever done this before...also the likes of David Lilley,Gary Wilson,Michael Rhodes all world class Amatuers that for some reason struggled to make it at top level .......come on there must be someone on here who knows about SNOOKER !! ?? ----------------- The Agent

Can I make one small suggestion which would make a perfect weekend even more perfect?
Double sided scoreboards.
That way (particularly for Daventry) you'd be able to see all the scores from all the tables from the viewing area!

a brilliant event with perfect conditions..my only gripe i had is that the tables were ready by 2pm on the friday but we werent allowed to start practising till 3?there may of been a reason for this, but if the tables were ready then why not let people practise?

great set-up - class venue......only downside is the time between matches if you get knocked out early 1st,2nd round etc(24+ hours in some cases) .......i noticed that when the 1/4 - semis etc are being played there are an awful lot of tables sitting empty for a couple of hours ....why not section the two tables off at the opposite end to the matches and run a pot-the-lot or a speed pool mini comp....with a small trophy for the winner + a donation from the entry fee to a local charity ?...say £5 a go (minimum 40 players) = £200 (£100 winner + £100 charity) ....seems a shame to have such quality tables/players sitting doing nothing for a few hours ?...anyone agree ? ----------------- The Agent [ This message was edited by: Agentsoap on 2010-07-22 14:31 ]

Darn it - I was going to suggest the double sided scoreboards Another excellent event, on a tour that is just getting better and better thanks to all the hard work of those involved Personally, I played like a complete chopper but still had a great weekend, highlighted by a few practice racks with Mr Rigsby - it's great to see you back at the table pal As for playing all events here, it was the best venue so far, and I would be happy to go down that route (but it is also the closest of the 3, so I think my view on that could be questioned)
