Nice one danny thats well sweet cant get on anywhere to get the final results i thought all the results would of been in by now.

Watch the O'Sullivan-Facquet match on Eurosport which wasn't vintage stuff but at least Ronnie came thru with the vital win.

Then they showed highlights of George Breedlove-Ralf Souquet and it was hilarious how many times George chalked his cue before finally taken a shot - 5 to 6 times well annoying!!!

The IPA boys are doing well Dazza won all his 4 matches, Neil Raybone has won 3 still one game left against Rodney Morris, Carl Morris also won all 4 and Mick Hill has won 3 out of 3 and still waiting for his final result but these guys all safely thru to the next round.

Hopefully Boyzi will be there as well!!!

Just see how the the next group matches will be defined:

2 x Group Winners
2 x 2nd Place
2 x 3rd Place

Therefore Ronnie's next group looks like this:

1. Winner of Group 19
2. Winner of Group 20
3. Ronnie O'Sullivan
4. Daryl Peach
5. Mark Tademy
6. Jerry Calderon

Interesting to see who the winners are of groups 19 & 20 and if they show the Daryl vs Ronnie match on TV be nice for the folks at home.

I think that if they could some how move the cameras around all the tables at vital points like they do at golf it would make for more exiting and interesting viewing, this way people wont turn over when a match is slow and dull, just a thought.

Good luck to all our players.

Yeah, I've got to add to the general dismay of the Eurosport footage last night. I kept turning over to watch channel 4's 'the top 50 comedy sketches.' Now that was entertaining! :-D

But the main thing is that lots of the British lads are getting through. So if we can see them in action I'm sure there won't be any complaints. To be fair it was the first day so hopefully it will improve as the week progresses....

I have to agree with a lot of the previous comments on the quality of the coverage, I found the camera work shody at best and it was often very difficult to distinguish balls. On the scoreboard/referee point, why go to all the trouble of hosting in such a grand & plush venue only to look like rank amateurs to the viewing public by having the players keeping their own score, racking the balls and not having some kind of visable official, I doubt any other major telivised sporting event would allow this. Granted it is the first event and there are bound to be teathing troubles but there are a few to many oversights for my liking.

I don't know why... Whether it's an American thing or a EuroSport thing, but they never seem to use pedestals or tripods for the cameras, so you always end up with the inevitable "wobbly cam"/shaky close ups/knackered camera crew situation!

On a better note - The majority of "our" players are through to the next round in grand style, many with top of their group status!

I want to attend these IPT events.

alot of good points concerning the balls etc, i cant understand why they dont use the super aramith tv balls,

i know they want to be different but sometimes     somethings are better left untouched, the tv balls for 9ball are perfect and the ipt should use them maybe its the tv pictures not doing them justice

also the mics the players are wearing makes it sond like their miss cueing all the time

the tv production side needs alot of working on

this is gonna sound daft but i think the bright red carpet round the table was producing a glare which then made the ball contrast different.

they do need a spotted cue ball though

and as for the scoring. i assume since not every table has a ref everything has to be the same even if your on the tele.

I know what they are doing with the balls - it's the same as the chalk....the official IPT balls and Chalk (Marketing) But the lighting isn't quite right and because you can't tell which balls are which, you can't follow the game. So you rarely 'see' any decent shots / positioning etc.

For example, one the games I followed, i was watching a nice clear up up to an end. The player appeared to get a poor position on the 'black' 8 ball, only for a close up to reveal it was a very dark red 7 ball!! I couldn't see the black! -I turned over after that. :-D

Hi,
Great point about the red carpet pooljedi- I think that is very valid.

Did you all notice how few spectators seemed to be there? It's only $5 a day and yet there seemed to be hardly anyone in the TV area and even when the cameras panned around the main hall they didn't give me the impression that there were loads of fans around!
I suppose that although virtually everyone on the IPT is a "big name player" the real household names are mostly (stress mostly!) in action today aren't they (Reyes, Bustamante, Deuel, Archer, Strickland etc etc) and so perhaps the crowds might be better as a result. No wonder they decided to sell tickets on the door after all!

I'm really glad Tom Storm made it through as he's one of my fav players but does anyone know why he forfeited his match with Mr Peach? Glad both of them are through but he'd have made life a lot easier for himself if he'd just taken a couple of racks from that match.

By the way Phil Yates was commentating on the Open golf this weekend via the BBC Digital service. He wasn't doing main commentary but he was commentating via the red button. Guess that's why he isn't on Eurosport IPT duty!

Thanks,
Chris.

Good point about the carpet does not contrast at all with the table

Just got a text from Riggers..........

'Was chatting to Ronnie for a while last night. Really nice bloke and nothing like TV image. Such a good attitude towards pool, asking for advice from all of us and always supporting the uk pool players after his game instead of dissapearing to the Poker table like some other person I could mention. Its like he's just another one of the UK pool lads....top bloke!'

Now thats what I want to hear!!!!! Awesome, Ronnie, keep it up pal.
