All players have to pay, Darren, Karl etc if they want to play in a wpa sanctioned event, I hope the meetings go well as the wish lists required for the next EPC need to be in by end of the month, all need to work together to grow the game we love, pros, amateur, ladies, wheelchair players etc.

Thanks Imran, maybe BPF need to up their profile, refresh the website as calendar out of date, publish accounts etc, (even if requires a log in), say what money is spent on, sponsor a player to go to EPC, (BWPPA wont mind helping out a a guinea pig for this !)
pool needs to grow and people involved (in some cases need to grow up)

I put in an earlier post what our balance is, as i said also each year we have a fee to pay to the EPBF, thats the main reason for the membership fees, without the fees we would not be members of EPBF therefore no player would be able to compete and until we secure funding i dont see how this can change

Andy we pay the epbf a fee of £1200 per annum. This is a compulsory fee hence that's why we have to charge players to participate.

the EPC wishlists have to be into EPBF by 25/1, EPBF sent them out on 8/12, doesn't give much time to select names, as if you put your name on the wishlist and don't go if offered a spot, you still have to pay the 110 euros per discipline. The wish list part is say you ask for 7 spot as your wish but only get 5. ----------------- Tony Southern BWPPA Chairman/Administrator www.bwppa.com BPF President Authorised Pro9 Advertiser [ This message was edited by: tigger147 on 2016-01-10 12:47 ]

Just want to add my two cents to this interesting thread. I think it's about time the UK got in line with other countries in terms of having a proper federation.
Here in France, all players have to be registered as players at a club and all clubs must be affiliated to the FFB (French billiards federation). There are also committees for each department and region of the country, so there is a proper organisational structure in place at every level.
I don't know too much about other countries, but I reckon most would have a similar system. If there are some which don't, they are probably being chased up by the EPBF like GB apparently is. Of course, the EPBF wouldn't want to lose GB participants from its events so I guess the current situation is being tolerated even though it's not properly in line with the rules.
I can understand why some people would resent giving money to the EPBF when they don't necessarily stand to benefit from that personally. However, I think everyone agrees that we want the sport to grow both on a local and international level. Hence having to defer to the international organisations.
£150 membership does seem a tad expensive and it's important all members get a clear visibility on where their money is going.
Using GB9 rankings to pick selections for the Euro championships would seem to make the most sense and be the most democratic criteria, rather than handpicking. After all, the BPF doesn't organise its own events so where else would it pick players from?
GB9 is such a successful tour and I hope that in the future the BPF and GB9 can work together for the good of the game!

After speaking with the board. The BPF hates to regret that there is insufficient funds to pay a players expenses for the European Championships 2016. This was due to a recent invoice of £1200 being paid to the EPBF for membership fees. However if any BPF member from the Gb9 official rankings would like to participate in the EC to represent the UK then they are obliged to. Higher ranked players would have priority. If you are not a BPF member and would like to play this year's EC please become a member first. Please let us know asap if you would like to represent the UK in the EC as the deadline for entries is approaching fast. Hopefully in the future we can assist in funding players to represent the UK in International events. [ This message was edited by: TheMaharaja on 2016-01-11 20:13 ]

So Richard states there is £1259.55 in the bank which presumably is the money that Mark stated was available for EC's in 2015 but not used. You have just had to pay £1200 to EPBF and all other players are due to pay you their membership fees for 2016. So if money from last year has already been used to pay this years EPBF fee what is all the money about to be paid to you by players going to be spent on? ----------------- Andy Warden, GB9 - Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: cueman on 2016-01-11 20:34 ]

So nobody was sent last year and year before but last year you had the funds, now I'm sure you've all paid your membership fees this year so that's added to recent bank balance , obviously with the deduction of fees . Where's the rest ? [ This message was edited by: Nelly on 2016-01-11 20:42 ]

Noone has paid there membership fees this year! We are not sure how many people are going to sign up either. If we get a good response to our players signing up again. Then we can look at sending someone this year. Right now it doesn't look good though. Hopefully we get more support and people realise that we had to organise this federation! Otherwise there will never be any more uk players participating in any wpa events ie The World Championship etc. The future of American Pool in the uk would be doomed if there is no collaboration.
