U have to look at what's going to be good viewing angle the numbers in the club and on cstv ! An to be honest 2 people chopping more than a lumberjack is no good for this

You get me wrong TRD, Mark Lovell challenged me via PM to a game at MMTV. I said provided that IF we could get a slot then yes I would be happy to play.

I don't really expect to get a slot because of the fact a lot of lower players want a crack at this. If I got on the bill, I certainly wouldn't expect to be on the TV table.

I think a 'chopfest' as it so likes to be called can have some positives but only if both players bring loud crowds or if there's a lot of money being thrown on the match to add tension.

Do I think they should be televised? Absolutely no way.

From a level 5 player.... :)

I don't like this idea of recent losers trying to get on a wildcard match immediately! Wait your turn unless nobody else steps up to the plate.

Looks like Mark has promised every man and his dog a money match so I'll step out of the way as far as MMTV goes, unless I would get considered weight against an opponent

It's not a question of you agreeing or disagreeing with it. The point is if you are on the list IMO you should be showing that you are willing to play and make it clear to the organisor what challenges you are interested in. Then the organisor has all the info he needs to pick the best matches for the viewing public.

If I was Andy I would always go with fresh faces wherever possible and so I personally don't expect to be picked for MMTV again unless there are no better options. But that's doesn't mean I'm wrong to put my name in the mix just because I lost at a previous event.

I'm sure Andy will agree we should all continue to put our names in the mix to give him as many options as possible and then he will make the picks that's right for the event. If that's not how it works you may as well take all the losers off the list!

These events are great to be involved in so if you've been involved once it's only natural people will want more of it. Fact is Andy can be trusted to pick the right matches regardless of all the banter and challenges flying about on here.

I'm not being funny Lee but you'd refuse a game for a grand because of the distance? I'd understand if it was £100-£200 maybe, but £1000? Nice payday for you pal potentially but guess its a risk paying for hotels etc just to feel fresh...

Would be a wildcard game Id like to see!

I don't mind playing 10 ball in my next match Andy if whoever challenges me agrees as I think it's a much better game than 9 ball.

You make good points. I guess I'd just be upset if I was told I couldnt get an opportunity just because somebody slightly better comes along. I don't mean you, because you're way better but I hope you know what I mean?

Like you say, once you've had a taste you want more. I don't blame anybody for trying.

The point I'd missed as you and TRD have pointed out, is that it's what the viewers want to see, not just the fact that somebody has a wad of cash available to play :)

Perhaps a list of wildcard games could be drawn up, and the forum members get to choose two matches from the list. This could get new forum members signing up to get their 2p in, and also gives a good indicator to Andy and Cuesport TV as this is the most knowledgeable crowd this side of the pond on the internet.

lol i will start again all winner stay on games are a race to 21 9ball end of, Wild card games can be optional 9/10 ball lee you are spot on with your post mate we are on the same wave lenth, MMTV will give every one on the list who wants to play a chance to have a go and enjoy there moment of fame, Players who have already played can and will get back on if we feel its the right game. You dont have to be the best to play on MMTV we will give everyone a chance, There is a right way to make a challenge for MMTV, Thats through contacting the event organiser other games will not be considered, PLease stay on topic and bring forward your challengers and your game will be noted.

If 10 ball is chosen for a match my recommendation is race to 17 if you want the average match time to be the broadly the same as 9 ball.

I think it should be 9 ball straight through and the organizer needs to take a more commanding role rather than asking people to throw wild cards matchs in the hat etc as it sometime gets like a playground on here with all the I'll play him he'll play u and he'll play him .

Also I think for this even to grow and to attracts a further field of players the 5 supporters issue needs to e addressed asap as I feel mmtv could lose out on some top matchs due to the rule ! Other than that stick to the rule and enforce it ! Luckily enough I have a good following and I'm also local so I will never have the problem !

Personally I feel it's not or shouldn't be the end of the world if a lad turns up to play a match on his own!

I wasn't there at the weekend but I'd be very surprised if the likes of adam smith arfan dad and chris buckmaster had the 5 supporters with them, and im not having a go or anything like that but if people are using the "well they were in the club " line thats just making a mockery of ther rule.

mmtv is good but with a few tweaks hear and there it could be great.

maybe form like a commitee or board like system ?? surly a few brains are better than 1 ??

just a bit of constructive critisasm thats all, hope it helps

Every man and his dog???
Im sure I haven't challenged Andy!

Anyway...
lets put a few things straight....

I didnt challenge Roger,
he challenged me at 8 ball, but as it turns out 8 ball is
not wanted I told him we could play 9 ball instead if he likes.

After playing Barry Briggs downstairs at the last event
I Pm'd him and said that if Gaz Hopkins didnt want
to play him on MMTV 6 then we could have a rematch.
Either on MMTV or downstairs again.

You told me you had backers and wanted to play
me Barry and that was the last I heard from you.

Thats it, I certainly havent challenged anyone else.

Back to the thread....

Andy,
I accept Rogers challenge at 9 ball
please consider it for a wildcard slot
Thanks

(As long as our chopping will not upset TRD of course!)

Okay trd has i have said before the reason why players come on here and throw out chalengers to each othere is because it adds to the hype, the banter is good for the game so we have no problem what so ever with that,
Has for players to bring supporters with them is an issue at the moment, It is an expensive day to set all this up with MMTV/CUE SPORT TV has we have no major sponser at this moment in time we rely on the trade to help fund this event, And i got to say the players have been great some players do fetch more than 5 supporters with them etc the barney army come with plenty, They are all great set of followers never any trouble yes the have a drink get loud but this is part of the game we love it great banter we hope to see them again on MMTV,
Also has for taking a commanding role i think pete and myself are doing pretty well has a team the new website is amazing it advertises all our players on there all over the world, So all we ask is keep supporting us in any way you can and we will keep doing our job proffesionaly, MMTV is the most talked about event in the uk every one will get a chance to play, that i promise you all,
thankyou for all your views keep them coming.

I had 20+ supporters on the morning session and that coupled with Mickeys family and friends, the place was buzzing.
