if the balls were lowered down the table it would make it much harder to guarantee a wing ball or the 1 ball in the side..........but, that said, varying degrees of power and cut can beapplied to adjust the line of the wing ball
either way, the break is an art; if you want to be a champion like many on here, master the break as it will dictate most games you play

I think there's another thread about that debate. Daz gets back today (very hungover and jet lagged no doubt) but not much time to party 'cos he's off to portugal Tomorrow. I just can't wait to nip down my local in Barnsley and get a quick race to 9 against a multiple major champion and the current US Open Champion. Surreal

agree riggers, ive not had a serious practice with daz yet but surely lookin forward to it in the coming months, even if im sat in my chair, will be good to watch how he goes about his business at a closer look, its a cryin shame that it doesnt get recognised in the papers or tv,all other sports do
massive massive achievement and probably will take many many years for a brit to achieve it again because of how hard it is to win it,proper wowzer tackle this one lol

All haters can seriously just kiss my a$$, i am over the moon Daz won as hes a good friend of mine and its even sweeter he beat the guy who ruined 9 Ball in the final. (Corey ruined 9Ball when he won the U.S Open breaking at 4mph and shooting the same balls in the same four pockets the whole event). Listen to the interview carefully and open your weak minds up, stop being fools and acting like children and hiding behind forum names. Anyone who knows anything about pool knows what i say is the real script, just ask other world class players. On that note once again Mr Apple congrats bro, huge achievement and well played the whole way as you were solid as a rock and didn't miss a ball i think. See you in Portugal and i think you can buy the first round for once ... peace and luv.
Raj Hundal World Pool Masters Champion www.Rajhundal.com Well, I always thought you were kind of cute, and you come off very professional on TV. Years ago, I brought up rack rigging in tournaments, comparing it to bowling. Bowlers don't rack their own pins in professional tournaments, and neither should the pool players. The problem boils down to funds. It is too expensive to have neutral rackers at professional pool tournaments, unfortunately. I know Raj and all the rest of the British brethren of pool players is excited as can be with Mr. Appleton's mighty triumph. It's the thing that all pro players dream of. Again, congratulations to Darren Appleton from the other side of the pond. And, Raj, you're okay in my book, too! [ This message was edited by: RailbirdJAM on 2010-10-25 12:47 ]

thanks for all messages am made up really.. got back today shattered and my bags didnt turn up and go portugal tmrw all my stuff in there trophy triangle etc etc hope to get back tmrw in one piece. thanks for all messages it been mad but great.. i loved the whole week i was in the zone and felt relaxed and calm all week and was so many tough matches.. thanks to all brits for support and predator for the sponsorship and that poison jump cue that won me the match little baby that is best jump cue on the market today.. its difficult to compare the two titles a question had a lot over past day even the world masters they are all special for me including world team champs and world no 1 they all have different feelings.. world champion is everyones dream so that will always be the one for me if am honest.. when i was 16 years old and practising for hours on end i always imagined i had shots for the world title.. so that was very emotional and monkey of my back as i doubted it might not ever happen for me world masters proved it was no fluke and i belong at the top of the game and to win it at first attempt was sweet.. world no 1 was proud moment also something you dream about also when you turn professional.. the world team was just amazing feeling and drama the us open probably the most consistant have ever played in a tournament and probably more important regards to what will come with winning it and the history of the event and the awesome venue is definatly up there ,i certainly enjoyed this win alot more than the others and will do for the next 12 months and i had a tough draw all the way.. atmosphere yesterday was awesome and with probably 90% of corwd against me it makes it even more sweeter and obviously 256 players toughest field in history and to go undefeated makes it more special. thanks to imran for tip on the break.. thanks to my pal ben finch who really inspired me to this win as i think he wanted me to win more than myself lol cheers kid.. and obviously all my family and friends you rock.. cant wait for my green jacket now last night was good party or saturday night sorry lol.. Dynamite..2010 Us open 9ball champion

With the WPM now being opened up rather than invitation only as it used to be then that certainly joins the mix of the biggest majors. So Daz has 3 of the big 4 already, which is just unbelievable in the time he's been playing. Am pretty sure he's lept to the top of the British all time medal table in that respect already. Also is he the only brit to ever occupy the world number one spot on the WPA rankings? [ This message was edited by: Riggers on 2010-10-25 13:59 ]

With so much talk about the break on here the question arises:
"How do you actually go about mastering the break shot?"
Do players test every variable and jot the results to a notepad? Is there a resource with the "standard" knowledge readily available on the Internet?

thanks everyone regards to the game its more difficult now than ever as so many great players now.. and the tables played good this week since they changed the rails the rails dont bounce as much they played virtually the same as my table.. but definatly having a diamond table at barnsley the last 12 months as helped me so much as i know the tables and rails so good.. also more good news think i got world no 1 ranking back so that just tops of a great week head to portugal today hope get my bags back this morning lol

I just love the look of the Pro9 front page at the moment - I wish we could just freeze time or something, that photo of Daz with the US Open trophy and the 24k Gold Delta-13 triangle around his neck has got to be in with a chance of pool photo of the year, surely?
