I enjoy Jim's commentary. He has a great tone of voice and is entertaining (a bit like Virgo in the snooker) but I agree it was crying out for an expert in the seat alongside i.e. a current top player, to call the shots and players thoughts.
There were many times when I wanted to say no that's not what he's looking at. E.g. in Daz's match against Shane when he played that amazing shot on the 2 ball to screw back off the side of the 9 for the 4 ball at the top of the table. The commentators thought he was looking at a billiard on the 9 but it was very clear what he was looking to do. The billiard was not even on.
Pat Holtz would be great if you ask me and that scottish accent sounds great too.

most amazing event ever, so glad to have been there to witness and feel the atmosphere.
brucie true legend, with the chanting, the scottish boys certainly got the crowd chanting, great stuff.
and nick varner showed what a class act he is, him and his wife only people from american team who went to after show party, so we gave him some appreciation, and a varner in a pear tree.
5 appletons, 4 appletons, 3 appletons, 2 appletons and an appleton in a pear tree
there's only 1 karl boyes, singing a song, walkin in a boyzi wonderland.
souquet in the sky with diamonds
mika, mika mika mika, mika
and how can we forget the best chant of the lot, nicky van der berg, van der berg, nicky van der berg.
and not forgetting a great captain and team coach johan.
and got my souvenir all signed by the players and mrs tight rack her self. thanks mika for the souvenir, like u said pal, quits now cheers.

Just got back from London this afternoon, I was there for all 6 sessions and the crowd was fantastic, We really were the 6th man.
The scottish lads in thier kilts were brilliant especially Bruce who was the main cheerleader for the european fans, he even got a round of applause when he entered the arena before play started on sunday!
Whats great about the mosconi is the diversity of fans, English, scottish, crazy germans and the dutch boys all got along like a house on fire, all united in thier desire for a european win. In the pub across the road from york hall after the sessions was germans, scots and english all arm in arm singing the songs as mentioned by lee.
As for the players, Darren Appelton was simply awsome, Karl Boyes was a rock, very impressed by Karl in his first Mosconi, Hatch tried to get to him by calling him the weakest link while Karl was playing and dennis was sitting in the crowd, personally i think this was bang out of order by a fellow profesional but Karl rised above it and proved why he is euro no.1. The first of many Mosconi's for Karl i think. Mika was his consistent brilliant best, Nick Van Der Berg was brilliant and Ralf started some what slow, but came on to his top game but i did hear Ralf was carring a shoulder injury but proved he is a legend by bringing it home on the final day.
Congratulations to all the players and the fans that were there as together i believe we all won the Mosconi Cup 2010.
Imagine if we could take the York Hall crowd to Vegas next year! the Americans woudnt know what had hit them, Like the atmosphere the cricket Barmy Army create abroad. I for one will start saving straight away for Vegas.

From what I saw from web streaming (and the afternoon sesh on SS2) it was a great event. However, at the risk of opening a can of worms, I'm not a massive fan of the 5 on 5 opening match. It's a nice idea but hits the post in my view. If Matchroom want a 10-man match then maybe they could look at altering the format. Race to 6 and maybe the captains could assign 2 racks to each player (with the order of play only announced at the start of sky's coverage). So Darren Appleton would play, for example, Corey in Rack 1 and Johnny Archer in rack 7. If the match went to hill hill then captains picks would play the decider. This would eliminate the awkward curtain raiser and give either team the chance to capitalise on a players momentum. Just a thought...

It's good that you get to see all the players straight away. I also like the way that the players cant get any rhythm going, the mistakes add to the tension

Well done Europe, a terrific perfomance from all the players with everyone playing a pivotal role in claiming victory.
The atmosphere and team spirit was awesome and must have been even better live in the venue!
Thanks Lee for your comment about re:commentatning. I feel my previous spells at the WC in Manila showed that I have the knowledge to add value to the team......and my accent ain't too bad to understand lol.

Got to agree with all of you it was a fantastic event and the players on both sides were great. It's the first time I have met Darren and Karl but they were awesome, every single person involved always had time to stop and chat. If 2011 is only half as good, it will be still be totally amazing and it's Vegas baby so everyone will have a great time. I really look forward to seeing you all there. Bruce you were amazing, but don't go showing people in Vegas what you don't wear under your kilt, you will be arrested Thank You One And All.......Paul & Brenda
