Don't know much about Steve Knight but I'd say the best player at the moment would be Darren Appleton.
When I was getting into pool the only name I really heard in the UK was Darly Peach so I rate him very highly too.
However, in a few years time I think the best player in the UK will be Jayson Shaw. That guy makes the game look easy.

I am more in agreement with the majority on this thread, although back in the early 90's, I remember that Dazzler, Knight, Donlon, and Lee Kendall were regularly in Pot Black/Cuesport Magazine tournament reports for having won regular Pro9 events as well as doing well in tournaments in Europe & USA, and so Dazzler and Knight Rider both have had the same level of experience, but as for being a good all round shooter and on his achievements, I would have to say that Dazzler would probably walk away with the cash, but in saying that, if such a match had ever been played, it would have most likely gone all the way with maybe only a 1 or 2 rack difference in the final scoring.

There's nothing like resurrecting a six year old post to really confuse and annoy everyone... Making it look like these comments are topical, when actually you are responding to posts made 6 friggin' years ago. Please check the forum posting dates in future, and if they are ancient like these ones, start a NEW forum thread so we don't all look like pillocks... Ta! With 6 years absence I think the best player IMO should be the biggest achiever in the sport - Who's won the most prestigious World and National titles - Whether or not you like a players playing style is irrelevant - Its not a popularity contest. Let the stats do the talking [ This message was edited by: SDAVISON on 2015-03-16 14:29 ]
