Awesome competition this was...... I can see why 256 players entered cos everything about this competition was class.. The hospitality out in Bosnia is really amazing, they pick u up from the airport take u to restaurants, take u to the local pool hall etc etc They treat the players like stars.. Hotel was top notch, the final arena was different class, always full of fanatical spectators.. Also they make a big effort to get top class playing conditions, for example "Knight shot" shipped 24 tables over for this event!! 1st time ive played on these tables which are really very good, pockets not to big and not to small and had a slightly slower cloth which all the players seemed to like.. Finally want to thank Ramiz and friends for inviting me over and look forward to going back to Bosnia next year... Mark.

must agree 100% this event for me was one of the best ive ever played in, everything was perfect.from the hotel to playing conditions to the people, some people need to take a leaf out of ramiz book and follow what hes done, it was brilliant imo, congrats to mark gray he played as good as i seen him play and well deserved, anyone who plays pool should make the effort to attend this next year, thanks to all the sarajevo a bosnians that made this happen, cant wait for next year

Firstly congrats to Mark who played super in the final dont think he missed a ball. Have to agree with Mark and Chris. Without a doubt the best tournament on the European calendar at the moment and the best thing about it is that it gets better and better every year. Hospitality was excellent as always together with the venue and organisation of the event, not to mention the after party on the last day. For me and all the other top players the equipment was especially good this year. They used a new table called Knight Shot tables which played awesome! Knight shot sponsored the event as Mark said and generously gave the tournament 24 awesome tables. The pocket sizes and the rails played great but the most notable feature was the cloth they used also produced by Knightshot called Triple X. Its the best cloth I have played on since I started playing pool! All the top players agreed that this cloth was amazing. Rodney Morris and Raj Hundal also said it was the best cloth in the world right now, better than Simonis and actually a bit cheaper to buy.
Wish there was more Sarajevo Opens on the calendar.......roll on next year!!!

Is the tournament open for anyone to enter? Also, is Sarajevo a safe place to be if you are not a star player getting the special treatment?
I'd love to go to a foreign event even if I'll lose first round. Would be as much seeing the sites as playing pool, but I would probably be alone and not sure if that's a good thing in Eastern Europe...

Yes Barry it is an open event and has players of all levels. Sarajevo is a safe place and the people are very hospitable. The hotel itself has lots to do including practice tables, bowling, great gym and spa facilities, a lovely revolving restaurant on the top floor with a great view. There is also a nearby casino which has a pool table where you can play challenge matches and poker comps .It is also a double elimination format just like the Eurotour. Recommend this tourney to all Brits wanting a good value fun tournament with excellent equipment.

First I want to thank you for such wonderful comments about Sarajevo Open. We really want for all players to feel like stars, especially the super stars who deserved that with their games and titles, Ralf, Darren, Karl, Chris, Majid, Daryl, Mark, Jayson, Niels, Rodney, Brett, Mario, Raj, Adnan, Ivica, Andrea, Matjaz, Zika and other ... they really deserve that. If other organizers of the tournament do the same, the pool would be at the place that it deserves. Guys, thank you for coming to the best European tournament. Tournament became the best thanks to you. ----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor √ [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2011-11-03 06:08 ]
