Apparently you could clearly see that the score sheet had several "rubbing out" marks?

Not subtle!

In a 15 rack match too!

Keep your eyes peeled, whilst there is a general belief that pool is a gentlemans game some people will do anything to win. If they aint cheating they do not need to worry about your eagle eyes!

For some reason it doesn't surprise me, but it does disgust me because it's stupid, selfish, cheating t**ts like this, who are hindering Pool's progress as a professionally recognised sport in the mainstream media and I honestly think that the player(s) involved should've been disqualified from that tournament and be at least banned from the next tournament as well as having ranking points taken from their overall total.

Sadly, the pool world will never be truly recognised as a professional sport, whilst the cheaters don't get called out and penalised by being barred from the next tournament, etc.

Willie

The SVB issue - fouls are only called on the cueball in the states in regards to league play (and particular league rule), so you can move an object ball by mistake if it's not the one that's on, and the opponent has option to move it back or indicate to leave it there, and the player carries on. That could explain the SVB issue.

To be honest, we're only talking about padding Break and Run reports, and we've seen that happen over here too... It's always going to be possible for the odd bit of player abuse, and it's surprising that it's the high profile players who try it on, both here and abroad apparently...

BUT, I defy you to name a single sport that hasn't got a far worse recorded abuse of rule breaking recorded, and if this is the most pool has to worry about then we're laughing!

List 'em for me...

1. FOOTBALL: Thierry Henry deliberately controls the ball with his hand.
2. RUGBY: Player uses fake blood capsule to get sent off.
3. FORMULA 1: Where do I start?
4. SNOOKER: Yes, even snooker has an investigation into irregular betting!

I'm not saying it's right, or fair... Just not a hanging offence.

Incidentally I'm watching the final now... If you're an early riser too you can watch Johnny Archer vs Corey Deuel too!

OK... I know it's Sunday morning, but there's a chance!

WOOOH... Johnny asking for a replay from the TAR people!!!

Awesome match... Johnny Archer just won the final 9:7 over Corey Deuel.

Interestingly, they were playing "call shot, call safe" which means that you can't play a two way shot, hoping to make the pot but aiming on "the pro side" i.e. thin, so that if you miss you get a good safety.

This precise situation occurred in the final rack where Corey missed a shot into the corner pocket and the object ball sat in the middle of the foot rail, and the cueball stopped in the centre of the rail at the opposite end of the table... Johnny made Corey play again!

I'd be interested to hear your (Pro9'ers) thoughts about this rule introduced, so far, just by the Seminole UPL 10 Ball Tour!

Overall, it was an amazing performance by Deuel who was also the tournament promoter remember, and taking the title must be a terrific confidence boost for Archer too, as tomorrow they both take a flight to the Philippines for the World Ten Ball Championships proper!

Johnny spoke a little about the Mosconi Cup Team and didn't sound too confident, although he's always sounds like a very modest guy anyway, but he sounded reserved about the rookie players and could only say that they would have a good chance if they could bond as a team.

I don't like the sound of that rule and think it's a step too far. All cue sports, even snooker, are supposed to have some element of luck. It think it's a bit ridiculous putting people back in when they miss a pot and leave you safe. This would also change the thinking behind the game and take the 'shot to nothing' type shot out of the game. No need for it IMO. The call shot rule is fine as it is.
