I wish I could be there, I always have such a great time in Scotland, although right now I seem to be suffering from a flu like thing, so you're all probably better off without me this year.... I think I'm "run down" after 14 days REAL work!!! LOL Good luck to all those going, have fun you lucky people!

There could b a new face that wins this wkend at Stirling with so many of the top ranked players (including myself!) playing in Weert,Holland-Euro Tour?!! Though my money would have to be on Tommy Donlon to win yet again lol!!!
Its a shame these tournaments clash but it seems to be a regular occurance and i really think all associations should work together a bit harder to stop this from happening! Good luck to everyone at Stirling and in Weert see you all soon, Mark.

Yes, i would have to say that the favourites will be Tommy Donlon, Mike Valentine, and Pat Holtz. Good look to everyone. See you down the road. -----------------

To my knowlege these players will be competing in Holland this week: Mark Gray Daryl Peach Imran Majid Andy Worthington Ian West Simon Widlo Myself Kevin Uzzell Mark Stephenson Brett Armer??? Paul Williams??? James Taylor Geoff Edge??? Thats it out of the top 32 from BPPPA rankings and I may very well be wrong. If all the above attend thats 13 out the top 32! Thats in addition to: Karl Boyes Mick Hill Tony Drago (adopted Brit) Darren Appleton Nigel Francis Ste Williams Craig Osbourne Courtney Symonds Oli Waters Paul Kellett Jonni Fulcher Craig Riley + others I can't think of off the top of my head British invasion of Holland [ This message was edited by: DaveMc on 2006-09-19 12:40 ]

A sneak preview of the results article from StirlingPride of Scotland, Michael Valentine, received a shock defeat in the first round at the BPPPA's Stirling Open. Player's were worried that the turnout may have suffered due to an unavoidable clash with the Dutch EuroTour, but they needn't have worried, as attendance was actually GREATLY IMPROVED over last year, with 63 entrants making their way to Stirling, compared to the 49 players the previous year. An ever improving Adam Smith delivered the blow to the Scottish favourite in 1st round, beating Valentine 7-5. Smith proceeded to beat Skirving and now faces Lee Rigby to qualify for tomorrow's Last 16 single elimination stage. Winners Side Qualifier RoundMike Rogers v Chris Cowie Paddy McLaughlin v Chris Parker Jon Davies v Lynette Horsburgh Martin Chapman 9:1 Andy Morris Lee Rigby V Adam Smith Graham Tough v Pat Holtz Abe Raou v Ben Moore Mathew Lawrenson v Phillip Burford Ain't Life StrangeLynette Horsburgh needs to win one more match win to qualify, Graham Tough and Pat Holtz are playing a Scottish derby, and BPPPA juniors Mathew Lawrenson and Phillip Burford have draw each other in the winners side to qualify! Thanks to Ted Bristow for the details.
