The news we were hoping NOT to hear... Fresh from the player's meeting in Reno: !!! QUOTE !!! The tournament in England has been canceled. So it is official. I don't know all the details about why, just that it isn't going to go forth. Thanks to JAM (via Keith) for the updates. I hope that they (the IPT) re-schedule a European - preferably UK - event soon. BS

Apparently the London event is not going to be rescheduled. The news about the sale of the IPT is also interesting. Hope roving reporter Mark Mills sends us a full report of the player's meeting.

So the event in London was cancelled basically because there wasnt a back-up venue, in case anything happened to the one they are using?? [ This message was edited by: lifeizfab on 2006-09-04 15:39 ]

I posted the news on the thread named IPT Reno right after the meeting that the reason the London event was postponed, I spoke directly to Mr Trudeau and as I said in the other thread it was simply down to the contract with the hotel, the hotel added something into the contract that the IPT did not agree with and the hotel would not budge on this and yes it was to late to arrange another venue big enough, as for the sale of the IPT yes an asian billionaire in fact he is in the top twenty of the worlds richest people has bought the IPT of Mr Trudeau for 150 Million Pounds although Mr Trudeau will continue in his roll for the next 5 years also announnced was two major sponsorship deals worth millions and the announement of live primetime tv coverage on US tv which is major in the states and now rates higher than US Football in primetime US they have many more major sponsorship deals in line after this event and it was announced that they will run this IPT as a clone of the PGA golf tour basically this is going to be biggest thing ever in cuesports anywhere and the prize money is going to be bigger... Jayson Shaw just lost his 2nd match 8-3, Raj won his and Rob McKenna lost to Luc Salvas.
