QUOTE !!! is there a video anywhere of the final, searched youtube n cant find owt,any help or a link apprecited, just like to see how melling destroyed his opponent There was quite a serious media pass requirement for this tournament, so it's unlikely that a YouTube video from anyone in the audience will appear... Even the national coaches had to pay for spectator passes to coach their players. The broadcast right went to CCTV and there ARE some people who record that channel, so fingers crossed something will turn up!

Just watched this Melling played flawless. Had the honour of playing him a few years ago in Barnsley and he was awesome then too.
Well deserved mate.

Sent to BBC Breakfast's Sports Presenter Chris Hollins today, and a similar message sent to BBC's Forward Planning department."Dear Chris, I know when I say "Pool" that you will immediately think of the pub game, but professional (American style) pool is played on 9ft tables, and Britain is ruling the world - these sports professionals are paying their own money to attend these events all over the world, earning pride and medals for our country, but our players NEVER get any conventional press back here?!?!?! Yesterday, Chris Melling won the China Open, watched by an audience of over 10 million on Chinese TV - they are superstars in China, but no one here even knows they exist? Look at these recent reports of British players winning World Championships and events... Englishman Chris Melling wins China Open http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1602UK's Darren Appleton wins Spanish Euro Tour http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1458 Yorkshire's Karl Boyes wins World 8 Ball Championships in United Arab Emirates http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1277Team England win World Team Championships in Germany http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1233Darren Appleton wins US Open in America http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=1423Daryl Peach won World 9 Ball Championships in Philippines http://www.pro9.co.uk/html/article.php?sid=652These are all very good looking, charismatic, fun, professional sports players who would make fascinating guests on the BBC Breakfast sofa! Feel free to contact me if you want more information or contact details for the players. (Chris Melling arrives back from China in 8 hours time). Why not get them all on the sofa this week? All the best, Big Dave Knight. Editor, Pro9 - The European Pool Player Resource. www.pro9.co.uk" We can but try... Fingers crossed everyone!----------------- Authorised Pro9 forum advertiser/sponsor

Welcome back "Lugs" - did they let "Tubs" keep that huge cheque this time, or have they sent him home with another promise and another bank card?

Have I heck... You don't think just one email will work do you? What might help is if everyone emailed them with the reason THEY think our champions should appear on the BBC Breakfast sofa! BreakfastPlanning@BBC.co.ukEven if it's too short notice this time, it might warm them up for next time! Hmmm... Should I start a new thread? What do you think? I honestly believe it would be a really great story. [ This message was edited by: BigDave on 2011-06-14 17:19 ]

perhaps we should distance our game from the pub by referring to it properly as pocket billards
