agree totally with anything-with-a-cue, the lack of events is a real problem imo. personally i believe that more events can only be a good thing, as everyone seems to be wanting more events to play at each weekend so why cant it be gb9 that fills this void? :)

The only prob with daventry is that it's 6 miles from nearest rail station but top venue otherwise

Maybe a couple of half-ranking events could go down well?

Main Tour only - double elim - maybe even 10 Ball? £40 entry across the board.

Just a thought...but if it were possible, it may be a way of combating both the '5 only' issue and spreading the Tour around...it may even enhance the hotel experience...as I said, just a thought.

theres plenty of practice comps about in between gb9`s,really makes sense to limit overheads and use the same venue which is central,i know its not goin to but would be catastrophic if gb9 went awol,am lookin forward to tryin to qualify

trying to qualify.

docherty's qualifying group

1st - docherty

rest playing for 2nd ;-)

I personalily can't wait to try and get back on the tour. It's serious play which I miss it's run professionally and there is a great buzz about the place where ever it's played. Riggers has always got it right in the past and I'm sure whatever happens next season it was be excellent to be involved with.

Wildman looking forward to his GB9 return

Well said Phil.......................

Richard Jones is starting the Micky Flynns events again next year,so thats another 7 events to play in,inbetween the GB9 Events.....

Also avin 1 wkend less on GB,sounds like its creating extra prize monies for the players for next season which can only b good for everyone involved.......

Keep up the good work GB9 and everyone involved...

                                    Mark.

Don't think so as entry has been reduced to reflect only 5 event i think.

Challenge player 6 events 2010 £639
Challenge player 5 events 2010 £549
Challenge player 2011 £549

Hopefully money could be coming from sponsors :-)

Don't think you could ask GB9 Team to do any more events as i'm know how hard they work for free currently to bring these events to us. I know they must love their pool to bring this level of quality events to us but i think they would have 2 much on there plate if we asked them to do more half ranking event between mains!

I think its up to us to bring more quality events to fill the gaps. I think i am going to try and setup a couple of southern events next year. Poss 8 Ball American for a change.

Likewise I am considering running a Central England tour similar to what Phil Wildman has done with Total 9ball. It wont be as official but I will endeavour to run a competitive tour with good value for money for all players amateur and otherwise.

Good luck to GB9 players for next season, if my mrs wasn't expecting maybe I'd have a crack for the full season :)

Cant be a british tour if all of them are in daventry tho mate i would actually like to see an event in the south this time as it costs a fortune each event for me to go up north, i needed to atleast make the final on challenge to break even which is why u only saw me at 1 event last year which funnily enough was daventry and it was a good venue so i give u credit with dat

Same for us all Tony..
If we don't have sponsors we all have to win an event to cover costs.

Surely the winner breaks format will just benefit the stronger players. Personally, I would like to see it kept as alternative breaks.

Winner breaks would be a bad move IMO, A lot of players are there just hoping to get a shot at a top player and where as they probably won't win they at least get chances with alternate break.

Just out of interest who that is a current tour player is considering leaving GB9 in 2011? Sadly I think it's a good move for me to not play in 2011 as I don't have anywhere that is even tolerable to practice and I don't want to be there making the numbers up again as it's painful for me because I know I have a lot more to offer the tour.

:(

I also hoped not all the events would be in daventry just because as soon as you get out side the hotel it feels like your in the middle of nowhere, And your right being in the same place, can't really call it tour.

I have been on GB9 since the very start, not missed a tournament,

And for me the way foward is winner breaks. I personally feel that is how 9-ball should be played.

with alternative breaks the match can get very broken up.Its then sometimes very difficult to get into rhythm. And most of the time the break does not mean much if you don't score the 3 points.
