There is always the question about someone saying, "I haven;t played for x weeks/months or even years" - how are you handling that Jon?

Is it based on known ability, or current form?

It's a tricky one Dave.
I think primarily it has to be known ability, but if there is truly a drop in talent which can be backed up by others then fine!

Imagine you let a known 10 play as an 8 because he hasn't been seen for a while!
Two or three rounds later and the old form kicks in.
The TD would get lynched!

Having said that, this list is only a guide and the TD can do exactly as they like!

For what my opinions worth Jon, I think your right...
Better to upset one player by ranking him too high
than aggravate everyone else in the tournament by

ranking him too low, having him run all over everyone and
maybe putting people off entering which is the whole point.

As you said before handicaps can be changed..
So players who have been off the scene can start on a
provisional handicap based on previous known ability..
If they are seen to struggle..simply bump them down a notch!

As I say, just my opinion to throw into the discussion!

I have the ability to make the hardest shot look easy,
Unfortunately this is surpassed by my ability to consistently miss the easiest

I agree, known ability and bump them down if struggling after a few events.

hi matt.

its a handicap system i introduced here so its a fair match and anyone can win as long as you play well.

had to get that in, lol

you race to your handicap, so if your a 9 and im an 8 i go to 8 you have to get 9

5 is the lowest, yes m8.

as andy's comp showed it really evens it all out, jenny unlucky against gibbo hill - hill and a 6, and to 7's doing well also, and if 12 plays well they can still win like mellin proved.

Ok Matt, I'll change you to a 6.
Btw, the list is updated from this post on a later one, but it should be ready to go live on site now!
