Yes, it will be interesting to know how many Pro9ers are here - anyone like to unmask themselves?!
Team matches have continued today, with defending champions York having won through all their matches in the winners bracket of Group A. It's now getting to the stage where championship last 16 places are being finalised for the knockout stages tomorrow. The random draw for the singles will be performed live at Wavertree, around 4.30pm, with most of the top seeds still in it.
Oh, and no snow (yet) Dave but very very bitter. Not a good weekend to forget your coat (as I did...)...

By the way, we haven't got an internet connection here so I'm limited to the Blackberry - so full draw/results are a little beyond my thumbs' capability!

The top 3 seeds, York 1st, Warwick 1st and Nottingham 1st (in that order), have qualified for Sunday's team championship last 16 knockout stages, having come all the way through the winners' bracket in their groups. Debutants Medway 1st have also come through their group's winners' bracket, 2-1 at the expense of the group's seeds Bristol 1st. Their fate now lies in surviving the losers' bracket.
LSE and Pro9er Lee Mager Osamabinpottin are also looking good for qualification, narrowly being beaten by top seeds York for 1st place in the group; they are now in the 4th round of the losers' bracket and will face the winner of 1arwick 2nd and Manchester 3rd next next, but regardless will qualify for the Championship on the basis of being the next best 1st team behind York.

The last 16 in the individual tournament is currently underway, line up as follows:
Ben Hubbard (Kent) v Michael Walsh (York) Rhys Williams (Edge Hill) v Jamie Gregory (Abertay) David Tiet (Essex) v Bernd Gentner (Manchester) Matt Robson (York) v Dan Turner (Warwick) George Hogg (York) v Kevin Lau (Manchester Met) Stu Thompson (Cardiff) v Jon Tyrrell (Cardiff) Pritesh Patel (Aston) v Stephen Brooks (Warwick) Andrew Bowe (Aston) v Sanup Mistry (Manchester)
Last year's semi-finalists Walsh and Lau are still there, and will be hoping to improve on that, and Robson, who like Walsh went to the inaugural EUSA Championships in August, will also hope to make his first final.
Unseeded Bernd Gentner has managed to make it this far without losing a single rack. Will he go all the way and beat the record set by Manos?!
Each round will be random draw, and so we could have some big matches in the quarter-finals.

Last night, Bernd Gentner clinched the singles title, after overcoming Kevin Lau in the final 5-2. Well played Bernd, some excellent pool was played in losing only 8 racks in total I believe. The team event knockout phases are underway now, in the trophy and championship.

York 3rds won the Team Trophy final, beating their 2nd team, and Manchester 1st built upon last year's promise by clinching the Team Championship final over defending champions York 1st.
Well done Manchester 1st on their success, and also Bernd Gentner for clinching both Team and Individual Championship finals.
