Well received first EuroTour win for Yorkshire's finest pool player!
No less than 242 players participated at the “Dynamic Italy Open” in the wonderful hotel Holiday Inn Resort in Castelvolturno, including 20 British and 2 Irish players, with no fewer than 33 different countries represented.
The eventual winner was Darren Appleton (GBR) defeating Bruno Muratore (ITA) in the final. Appleton chose one of the toughest routes to the final imaginable needing wins over 5 previous EuroTour winners in a row in the single elimination stage (Tony Drago, Oliver Ortmann, Imran Majid, Mark Gray and Bruno Muratore) to take the title that has been long overdue in many eyes.

Dimitri Jungo crowned victor over reigning world champion Daryl Peach
The tournament ended with a Swiss victory on Sunday evening at the Biel 9-Ball Open Grand Prix 2008. Dimitri Jungo displaced the entire world-class field and repaid the incumbent 9-ball world champion Daryl Peach for the defeat in the final of the Euro-tour in Sindelfingen last year.
The Code 9 event in Biel, from Thursday 03 April until Sunday 06 April 2008 took place with 184 players in the men's event, 24 youth players in the junior event, and about 500 audience members - an excellent spectacle for players and visitors alike, with the Sunday sold out. The additional youth tournament rounded off the event perfectly. Winner David Bianco surprised us twice with victories over the undisputed No.1 Gaëtan Roux and thus won a well-earned youth tournament victory.

8th Annual Predator International 10-Ball Championship
Las Vegas, NV- An army of Europeans are assembled to take down the crown this year at the 8th Annual Predator International 10-Ball Championships. The Dragon Promotions produced event will be held May 12-17,2008 during the BCAPL National 8-Ball Championships at the Riviera Hotel and Casino. This year players from Spain, Hungary, Germany, Sweden, Italy, Finland, Great Britain, Portugal, Austria, Malta and Netherlands will be looking to win on American soil again and in Las Vegas once more.
"Is it safe to come back to USA? To Las Vegas? I mean, after the last time we were all here and beat the Americans." joked Tony Drago of Malta who will be making his premiere on US soil in a major pro tournament.

Holtz starts the year in sparkling style!
The Scottish American Pool Players Association have posted the updated provisional rankings after the first event of the 2008/09 SAPPA season. Once again Pat Holtz has gained the advantage, winning the season opener with a victory over SAPPA No.76 ranked player Fraser Patrick in the final at Rileys Belshill, Scotland
Darren Murray and Tam Talent are the biggest movers in the new season shake up, and unfortunately it's a move in the wrong direction as they are unceremoniously bumped out of the 7th and 8th spots of the rankings to a rather more lowly 16th and 17th respectively. Greg Alexander and Ian Mackintosh are the happy benefactors promoted into the two available spots in the Scottish elite, and Adam Smith makes a leap straight into the top 16 at number 10.

Dear All,
After long consideration between the IBPF and the local organiser in Frauenfeld / Switzerland, Island Billiards – Mr. Jimmy Kolonis, it was decided in good co‐operation that the Euro Tour “Dynamic Swiss Open 2008 & 2009” will not be organised in Island Billiards. It turned out that it would be too much of an effort – financial & work – to make the necessary changes which the Euro Tour requires. The second issue that decided, was the fact that we only have 16 tables available which is, with the current number of announcements, quite a challenge.
