Dimitri Jungo crowned victor over reigning world champion Daryl Peach

The tournament ended with a Swiss victory on Sunday evening at the Biel 9-Ball Open Grand Prix 2008. Dimitri Jungo displaced the entire world-class field and repaid the incumbent 9-ball world champion Daryl Peach for the defeat in the final of the Euro-tour in Sindelfingen last year.

The Code 9 event in Biel, from Thursday 03 April until Sunday 06 April 2008 took place with 184 players in the men's event, 24 youth players in the junior event, and about 500 audience members - an excellent spectacle for players and visitors alike, with the Sunday sold out. The additional youth tournament rounded off the event perfectly. Winner David Bianco surprised us twice with victories over the undisputed No.1 Gaëtan Roux and thus won a well-earned youth tournament victory.

184 players, 24 youths, and about 500 visitors attended Le Pavilion on Sunday for the conclusion of the 3rd Bieler edition of the 9-Ball Open Grand Prix 2008,and also the third issue in the history of Swiss Billiards Sports.

For local Bieler player Dimitri Jungo to take the tournament crown with his biggest home tournament win ever, against the reigning world champion Daryl Peach was an excellent piece of publicity for the city of Biel, for the PSC and PBC Biel, for the Billiard Center and the billiards hall in Biel, and for the whole of Switzerland and Billiards Sports viewers a unique event.
