EPT ANNOUNCE FIRST EVENT
17/18 June 2006 will be the date of the first ever EPT event. It will be held at Rileys Stretford, Manchester. "We have been working non-stop over the past few months to get the EPT up and running, and after much anticipation from all the players, I am very pleased to finally announce the first event. From the feedback we have had already, we are expecting big numbers for this first event, mostly because the prize money is GUARANTEED and that's what players want." said Daryl Peach, the EPT founder. He went on to say "This is just the first in a long line of EPT events, and the future holds big things for the EPT and all its players"

Corrigan & Bonner Retain Their All Ireland Doubles Title
Damien Corrigan (Tyrone) and Paul Bonner (Donegal) retained the All Ireland 9-Ball Doubles Title beating the Derry pairing of Paul Strawbridge and Chris Brown in the final of the 2006 event played in T J’s American Pool Club Newry Co. Down last weekend.
Damien and Paul who have been knocking on the door over the last few years on the Irish tour, reaching the semi-finals and final stages on a number of occasions only to face defeat. Now, however, it is now starting to turn around for both players as they are starting to show their fellow players that they mean business when it comes to tournament play and the results indicate the same, with both players climbing into the top five in the tour's official rankings.

Colchester ‘Dazzled’
Another weekend of fantastic 9 ball was rounded off with a triumphant Daryl Peach taking home the glory and the big money as he overcame good friend and travelling partner Andy Worthington by eleven racks to ten at the BPPPA Colchester Open final, held at Riley’s Colchester over Saturday 13th and Sunday 14th May. Although close, the final never really sent sparks flying across the baize owing certainly to the two players knowing each other so well, but predominantly because of both putting in so much effort to reach the final itself. At hill-hill, Blackpool’s Peach broke off and as the balls were preparing to rest it looked as though Worthington was to be given a clear chance for the title, until a kindly bump from the red 3 saw the 7ball drop into the side. The table had proved a difficult one to make balls from the break on, so when the 7 did find a hole – and Peach let out a huge sigh of relief and a smile, the chuckle from the spectators was more than justified. ‘The Dazzler’ made no mistakes in running-out the remaining balls to lift his third title on English soil for the season. “I had that good feeling when Sunday arrived”, said Peach, “I get a feeling in every single tournament I play regarding whether it’s my day or not, I felt it was my day in Colchester and it was”.

This is one of only two chances to qualify in Europe for a share of the $2,000,000 prize fund on offer at the IPT North American 8-Ball Open Championship
The 25 locations for qualifiers have been announced and the only two European qualifiers are NA-09 and NA-24... The first is in Switzerland and the second is will be at a venue in the UK.
Entry fees need to be paid in advance (absolutely no entries are accepted on the day) so download the forms from here and ensure a spot in one of the limited fields for the IPT North American Open Qualifiers being held in Europe.
Remember, over $2 million dollars in prize money will be earned by the 200 players, $350,000 for first place, but more importantly last place will win $2,000!!!

King of the Hill 8-Ball Shootout to Air in Prime-Time Starting Sunday, June 4
Chicago, Illinois. (May 4, 2006) --- The International Pool Tour, the richest professional pool tour in the world, has secured a major television package to air IPT’s action-packed “King of the Hill 8-Ball Shootout” series on OLN. The network will carry the six IPT shows in prime time, with the first show set to premiere at 7 p.m. ET on Sunday, June 4.
The International Pool Tour’s “King of the Hill 8-Ball Shootout” features the world’s greatest players competing for more than $1 million in prize money, by far the biggest purse ever offered in pool. The series will be shown on OLN over six consecutive Sundays, culminating in a two-hour finale on Sunday, July 9.
The Comcast-owned OLN is currently available in almost 70 million households and is considered one of the hottest sports cable networks in America. BUR-FECT PAIRING AGAIN IN ST ALBANS
The gifted Tony Burton has taken his second BPPPA Junior title of the season by winning the Southern Regional Championship held at the outstanding venue, Riley’s St. Albans. Burton, known as the ‘Basildon Bomber’, beat Darlington’s 15 year old sensation Philip Burford by nine racks to two in the final match. Storming into a 4 – 0 lead, Burton kept his composure and never allowed Burford to find any sure-footing in the match to take the last trophy and cash prize up for grabs before the big one - the British Junior Championships, which will be staged in Stafford on Saturday 20th May.
