Watch LIVE Bwin broadcasts from the European Pool Championships!!! Great Britain owes a debt of gratitude to the BWPPA's wheelchair players after Daniel Luton grabbed the first GBR Gold Medal at the European Pool Championships 8-Ball division, trouncing former champion Henrik Larsson from Sweden with a dominating 5-2 score. Larsson beat Britain's Roy Kimberley in the Semi-Finals so Kimberley adds to the British Medal haul with a bronze.
In the Men's 8-Ball division, in a clash likened to the "hare and the tortoise", Malta's Tony Drago sped all the way to the final only to fall at the final hurdle in what turned out to be a rather one-sided match with Germany's Oliver Ortmann. The German champion adds yet another European 8-Ball Gold to his collection, and Drago had to settle for Silver after the decisive 8-3 score.

A new venue has announced it is running an open 9-ball event on Saturday 19 May 2007, and all entry fees will be returned as prize money.
Best of nine in the early rounds, and the final a best of fifteen will hopefully attract the keener players, and the modest £5 entry fee should make everyone feel welcome, from beginners upwards.
Registration starts now (email the organiser at the address above) and continues until 10.30am on the day of the event where you can turn up and play.

DAVID ALCAIDE WINS 2007 GRAND MASTERS 8 BALL OPEN!
Superlatives fail me when I try to describe the simply astounding level of pool on display from the finalists in the 2007 Grand Masters 8 Ball Open,
Spaniard David Alcaide and British Imran Majid traded games until the final decisive set in the best final I have EVER SEEN!
In hindsight, it would appear that it was clear that Malaga man Alcaide had this tournament sewn up from the start, although it was inconceivable that he could possibly maintain the awesome level of play throughout the entire three days!
Photos and mini podcasts at 1am!

Rileys Coventry Open 9-Ball Tournament
The date of the next 9 ball open tournament has been confirmed as SUNDAY 18th MARCH.
The only difference to the tournament this time is that the entry fee is increasing to £10 which will still represent excellent value with at least 3 group games for each player, but also means the prize fund will be increased as a result. I am hoping with the promise of an increased prize fund this may help to attract more players.
I have attached an A4 sized copy of the poster (MS Word doc) advertising the tournament on March 18th. If you could display this poster in your local club and help attract players it would be greatly appreciated.
