Uzzell takes the Grand Masters qualifier spot in Leeds
Kevin Uzzell showed his true class by taking the Leeds qualifier spot for the Grand Masters next week at Mickey Flynns.
He was placed under pressure by two of his opponents and pulled out those elusive pressure shots when he needed to.
In the tournament, Steve Higton looked like value for money by first defeating his good friend Andy Worthington and then Simon Widlo in the quarters.

Draw made at World 8-Ball Championships
The draw has been made today Friday 2nd March 2007 in Dubai for the inaugural Grand Masters 8-Ball event at Mickey Flynns in Cambridge.
Kevin Uzzell took his place in the Grand Masters, winning his spot at the Leeds Qualifier last night. He will now face Stuart Colclough in the first round of this "Race to 8 - Best of 5 Sets" format event.
The best match-up of the first round has to be the Sweden vs Finland rivalry Marcus Chamat against Mika Immonen.

World's First World 10-Ball Championships
96 of the worlds greatest players will attend the world's first World 10-Ball Championships in Jacksonville, Florida starting on May 23. This is the seventh year Predator will play host sponsor to this Dragon Promotions production. The event was formally known as the Predator Florida Open and was the first event ever produced by DP which currently promotes 40 international events a year. The event will be UPA sanctioned and part of the UPA's 2007 tour season.

Action from the final at the Mickey Flynns 8 Ball Open
Harrison beats local favourite Ricardo Jones in double elimination final
Phil "The Farmer" Harrison had to play an incredible EIGHT gruelling matches to take the top prize at the first 8 ball tournament of the new 8 and 10 ball series of events scheduled for the superb Cambridge venue.
Mickey Flynns ran a rather unique format that awarded each player two "lives" and kept redrawing the full remaining field until it had diminished to the semi finals, ensuring that everyone had a plenty of action in return for their entry fee.

Yorkshire man Darren Appleton is the first player to qualify in Fujairah, UAE.
Pro9.co.uk is proud to be the first web site in the World to announce the news that "Dynamite" Darren Appleton has won the first of ten scheduled qualification tournaments for the 2007 Damas WPA World 8-Ball Championships.
It's 1a.m. in the United Arab Emirates and we've just got a phone call direct from the Qualifier Tournament Director Doug Gordon telling us that we're the first to know. The phone was handed to Darren Appleton who mentioned the high quality field saying, "I beat a Filipino in the semi-final, and then I had to beat another Filipino in the final!"
Congratulations to Darren Appleton...
...And good luck to Kevin Smith who plays his first match tomorrow morning.
