There have been a few requests for some gallery photos of my past and present cues so in-between the big articles, I will do a series of mini articles with a few pictures followed by a brief description of the cues.

"Read More..." for the details.

Cues from top to bottom:

1) Black Boar: The legendary Tony Scianella made this amazing players cue in 1992. It features 4 points of ebony with 2 veneers into a fantastic piece of birdseye maple, original linen wrap and ebony butt sleeve featuring double ivory rings and a Delrin butt cap. The joint a 5/16-14 piloted stainless steel affair. Black Boar cues are very rare indeed and are firmly in the upper echelons of cue collecting. Rico Diks is a very good friend of Tony’s, Rico used a Black Boar for many years. This particular cue is now owned and used by Lionel Brown.

2) James White: ‘Diamond’ Cue. Article on this cue to follow soon.

3) James White: This snooker style cue is made of ebony and straight grained maple. It has a piloted ivory joint and is wrapless. The next time you see Neil Jenkins, he will be happy to show you this cue.

4) Dennis Searing: Did someone say rare? Dennis Searing cues are super rare and ivory jointed Searings are the rarest of the rare. This 4 point, 3 veneer ‘Hoppe’ model is one of the most desirable cues on the planet. Ebony points and butt sleeve, leather wrap and a flat faced ivory joint with a radial pin. This cue also features 4 matching shafts. There will be a few articles on Dennis in the coming weeks/months.

5) Paul Mottey: Szamboti style Mottey. Very fancy 8 point model with huggins of ivory inlays, ivory joint and ivory butt cap. Cue features a black lizard wrap also. The ivory peacocks in the long points are scrimshawed. This is definitely a POA cue.

6) James White: A wonderful contemporary cue made by ‘Big Jim’. This is a highly detailed 8 point cue with an amboyna forearm. All the white is ivory and the wrap is black ring tailed lizard.

7) Szamboti: Ebony on ebony cue made by Barry Szamboti. Based on a cue style made famous by his father, the master cue builder Gus Szamboti, this cue re-creates those days when this style was contemporary. It is now considered classic. More articles on this cue, Szamboti cues and hopefully an interview (!) to follow.
