THE 2014 GB 9 BALL TOUR PAUL MEDATI TROPHY The GB9 Pro Cup and the Rasson Billiards Challenge Cup Daventry Court Hotel Sedgemoor Way Daventry Northamptonshire NN11 0SG United Kingdom www.gb9balltour.com - Live-Stream - Live-Score - Facebook - Twitter www.pumahotels.co.uk

Do not delay, fill in an entry form now!
Featuring: The GB9 Pro Cup & the Rasson Billiards Challenge Cup
Memories from yesteryear will be rekindled in more ways than one as the GB 9 Ball Tour returns to Daventry for this year’s Paul Medati Trophy, the GB9 Pro Cup and the Rasson Billiards Challenge Cup.
Whilst not everyone on the tour will have played against or alongside Paul Medati in their careers, most will be aware of his dedication to cuesports and to GB9. A former snooker professional who made the hop over to American pool in later life, his was a warm and wonderful character who is missed on the tour to this day. His legacy lives on in GB9′s annual competition named in his honour, and the best pool players from across Great Britain and the continent will be doing battle to try and win the winner’s purse and beautiful Paul Medati Trophy itself.
This event also sees the tour return to arguably its spiritual home in the form of the superb Daventry Court Hotel in Northamptonshire. Previously known as the Barceló Hotel, this venue has hosted some of the most memorable matches in the tour’s history, and the combination of facilities and playing conditions made it one of the most popular venues in the tour’s portfolio. GB9 are delighted to be returning to the venue and hope that all competitors, both old and new, enjoy the tournament at the hotel.
The 2014 Paul Medati Trophy is also the first competition in GB9′s history to carry a GUARANTEED prize fund of £9,250 (11,300 Euro), with £1,300 (1,600 Euro) guaranteed for the winner of the main event. We hope that this guaranteed prize money will attract more players from across Great Britain and the rest of Europe to play on the tour and experience for themselves the tournament conditions that GB9 prides itself on.
GB9 are also delighted to announce that former US Mosconi Cup team member and US Open 9-Ball champion Corel Deuel will be competing in his first GB9 event. Corey is the reigning US snooker champion after having made a crossover to the 15-red cuesport in recent years. He has been nominated this season to represent the United States Snooker Association at the World Snooker Q-School event in Gloucester later this month. He will compete in the Paul Medati Trophy whilst over in England and we wish him the best of luck in both competitions during his time across the Atlantic.

This weekend kicked off the Baltic Pool League 2014 season. The venue was Entry Pool Club in Kaunas, Lithuania and the discipline 10-Ball. The first winners of the 2014 season are Konrad Piekarski (POL) and Tatjana Vaitkiene (LIT).
Lithuanians ruled but failed to win
In the men's division with a field of 64 players, Lithuanians were the most successful country to grab six of the first 8 finishes. However it was Konrad Piekarski from Poland that triumphed by beating in the one sided final Lithuanian Domas Mineikis 7:1. Piekarski played solid for the whole event and earned the win as the most racks that anyone was able to get from him was only three racks. In his semi final Piekarski won over Daumantas Dieninis (LIT) by a score 7:2. On the way to the final Mineikis was convincing by leaving his fellow countryman Marius Ganusauskas with a donut as he won 7:0.

Poison Billiards, a division of Predator Group, and Hall of Famer, Jeanette Lee, the Black Widow, have joined forces to create an all new line of products, including cues and accessories.
"It was a natural fit for both of our respective brands and we're very excited about the one-two punch our two teams are creating" said Predator Group Chairman, John Forrester..
The initial line of six Poison/Black Widow cues will launch in late July and will feature more design firsts from the convention defying team at Poison.
"I've spent many years crafting my own style, so when we began to discuss things, the look and feel of Poison just felt right. Their design aesthetic paired with their Predator backed performance matched perfectly with my persona. This line will be equally distinctive and lethal, just like me" said Jeanette Lee.
"It's been a real pleasure working with Jeanette on these designs. We're really excited by the collaborative nature of this project and will continue utilizing Jeanette's input as we develop more exciting products" said Kyle Nolan, Predator Group's Director of Branding & Communications.
“Successful partnerships tend to have strong synergies, and a relationship between billiard’s most recognizable athlete, The Black Widow, and Poison Billiards, is a perfect match. This partnership has tremendous potential, not only in the value it could add to the Black Widow and Poison by Predator brands, but also in the value that it could bring to the sport of billiards and its avid consumer base," said Mike Scherer of Octagon Sports Management.

Finally it's here... Tonight is THE NIGHT! The much anticipated match between 2 Time US Open Champion Darren Appleton and 2 Time Fight Nights One Pocket Champion Chip Compton!
More and more we've seen Appleton making progress at the most complex pool disciplines, and One-Pocket is widely acknowledged as the real "thinking man's" game of pool where tactics and strategy are just as important as flawless shotmaking, but this could be the Yorkshireman's toughest challenge yet as he takes on one of the USA's finest exponents of the game, on what must feel like Compton's home stomping ground.
Can Appleton pull off another victory against all odds? He has been practicing on his newly installed home table, and we all know he loves challenging himself with money matches. Apparently the money on the table has actually exceeded the stated $20,000, and he sounds confident too! Personally, I think it will be a close run thing, and he'll need every bit of support he can get, so prepare for some late night action and watch the PPV livestream from PoolActionTV.com for Fight Night International 006.

 | Tom ‘The Don’ Staveley takes another T9B Title |
T9B The Double Chance Amateur/Rookie Series 2014 The St Albans Hurricane Room Unit 8 Verulam Industrial Estate 224 London Road St Albans Hertfordshire AL1 1JF www.hurricaneroom.co.uk www.t9b.co.uk - entrants and chat - live score
Saturday 26 April 2014
 Event 5 Report
The Total9ball Amateur Series continued this weekend with Event five of the 10 event series. St Albans again played fantastic hosts as a strong 28 player field traveled to Hertfordshire to compete for prize money and crucial ranking points to up there seeding for next month’s mid-season Grand Final. Matches kicked off at 10.15am, with each player in the draw twice... Was today to be the day where the Jackpot was won?
The total prize money for a Jackpot winning player was a cool £625. To complete the Jackpot one player must remain undefeated in both tournaments and would therefore play themselves in the Final. Chris Buckmaster returning from a few months break from the action still looked as sharp as ever, in round one he defeated current T9B ranked number one player Rattapol Sassmann 7v5. Chris followed this with a 7v3 winning score line against Steve Davison. There were a few players who booked two spots in round two, they included Aslam Abubaker, Chris Goh, Mark Parker, Paul McMichael, Simon Widlo, Tommy Donlon.
Tom Staveley got off to the worst start possible only winning 3 racks in his first match as he lost one life to Chris Goh 7v3. Tom did however follow this result with an impressive win against Total9ball’s most successful player Courtney Symons 7v3. Match of the round involved Tommy Donlon and Tony Burton, the match was full of high class shot making and went all the way to hill-hill but it was Tommy who advanced 7v6.
Thanks to Dynamic Billard for sponsoring this event.

All wheelchair cue-sport players invited to compete as the BWPPA 20014 Season continues.
The 2014 tour commenced at the New Pool Academy at Stoke Mandeville at Event 1 as Tony Southern took the GNO Southern 9 Ball open with a win over Aslam Abubaker.
Abubaker retains the top spot, but it looks like being a 3-way battle right to the end of the season, between Abubaker, Southern and Roy Kimberley for the Predator Ikon-2 cue that goes with it.
In the last few months, the Gentlemen’s Night Out, Kamui Tips, Simonis, Predator and other sponsors have agreed to continue to support the tour in 2014 and hopefully beyond.
