Darren Appleton voted EPBF Player of the Year 2013
Last night the Dynamic Billard European Championships for Men, Women and Wheelchair players in Kyrenia, North Cyprus, were stopped at 20:00 and the player’s night took place. All players from the various nations gathered together and celebrated the European Championships. During the party, the disclosure of the election for player of the year 2013 took place. Darren Appleton (GBR) was elected Player of the Year 2013 with the most votes. He had a small advantage over Nataliya Seroshtan (RUS) in the end.

Saturday 5th April 2014 was the date chosen to launch Total9Ball's latest event to their already busy calendar ‘The Money Multiplier’ held at the fabulous St Albans Hurricane Room. 32 pre-paid amateur 9ballers were in for a treat as T9B offered a ridiculous value event. Each player was guaranteed a minimum of two matches… The first a race to 9 and the second race to 7. The entry fee was kept low at £30 for T9B members and £35 for non-members. There was a whopping £600 cash guaranteed for a jackpot winner, that’s an unbelievable 20x the entry fee. The event secured its 32 players within 12 hours of being announced which was a great boast for the T9B staff and we fully expect event two to fill even quicker. The date for Money Multiplier Event Two will be announced at 8pm this evening on Pro9.

8-Ball titles for Van den Berg, Tähti, and Sirotina
The 8-Ball individuals at the Dynamic Billard European Championships in Kyrenia, North Cyprus, have been decided. The newly crowned Champions are Darya Sirotina (RUS), Jouni Tähti (FIN) and Nick van den Berg (NED).
„The toughest match of the day was the quarter-final encounter with Jasmin Ouschan“, stated a happy Sirotina after the final match. She had just defeated Kamila Khodjaeva (BEL) with 6:5. The match was filled with ups and down with Sirotina getting 5:3 advantage over Khodjaeva. But the Belgian knew how to stay in the match and pulled back two racks from Sirotina to tie the match at hill-hill. There, Sirotina proved her nerves and ran out the rack and the match to win her first European Champion title in the women's division.
Jouni Tähti has been there quite some time already. He had the final match with his „favorite opponent“, Henrik Larsson (SWE). „It is always special when Finish people meet Swedes in sports events“, says Tähti after the final. He remained the upper hand over Larsson and took the title with a clear 5:3 victory.

The Amateur Nations Championships
It has to be said. Day one of the Nations Championship was awesome. great atmosphere, The club looks fantastic as it's dazzled with colours of the flags of all represented countries.
There were some close matches with the all England clash going right to the wire. England B were to prevail 5v4 winners. It seemed England B had the tactics spot on but would you not expect anything less with Jose Fergie Sim as captain.
England B then produced the result of the day in their second match with a magnificent 7v2 victory over Ireland A to top the overnight table. Del Sim has his troops fired up as they now look destined for the Final.
It wasn't all doom and gloom for England A as they battled back 1v2 against a talented Belgium outfit to win the match 6v3. With Dean Reeve and Tony Burton being the most valuable players for Eng A. Captain Phillip Wildman said, "we have a very strong team with no weak links. We didn't fire on all cylinders on Day One, but I know this event means a lot to all of us and Day Two will be our day. We battled hard and kept ourselves in this overnight, we are in a strong position and two positive results today should see us through."
At 10am this morning we will see Eng A v Ireland B and Eng B v Belgium. Why not join us at the Hurricane Room St Albans for some top class 9ball action.

All WPBL Playoff matches from the league’s inaugural season will be free to view as of Friday March 21, 2014. The matches which were originally broadcast live from the WPBL Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada and can be viewed by accessing the WPBL website.
The on-demand matches will not only include the league’s championship featuring Thorsten Hohmann’s Minnesota Outlaws vs. Johnny Archer’s Atlanta Scorpions, but will also include the “WPBL All Star Charity Billiards Challenge”. The charity challenge featured Filipino stars Dennis Orcollo and Carlo Biado as well as WPBL player Warren Kiamco facing off against the WPBL’s top players Darren Appleton, Thorsten Hohmann and John Morra.
WPBL President Larry Chiborak had this to say about making the matches available: “The league playoffs truly showcase the game of Bonus Ball and are filled with drama, incredible shot making and a series of upsets that are sure to have any billiards fan on the edge of their seat and are just in time to enjoy during spring break!”

Event 4 Report
The Total9ball Amateur Series rolled on to Event 4 this Saturday (22/03/2014). The jackpot was increased to a whopping £630 but unfortunately again it wasn’t won. The jackpot will continue to increase until one player wins both sides of the draw taking the Winners, Runners Up and the accrued jackpot prize money.
28 players competed in what was Total9ball’s 53rd event in its successful 4 four year history. The field of players was bursting with talent all looking to lift the beautiful T9B glass trophy at the end of the event. Again we had many new faces but also some old faces from years ago including Martin Correia.
Unfortunately Mark Parker had some bad family news on Friday evening forcing him to miss his first event for well over two years. As there has been a Total9ball baby born, Mark has been taking on extra duties during the events and taking the equipment home. A massive thanks goes to Mark for keeping yesterday’s event alive by bring all the equipment to the Hurricane Room before leaving shortly after to be back at home with his family.

Wilson names USA Squad
FOLLOWING ON from his appointment in January, 2014 USA PartyPoker Mosconi Cup captain MARK WILSON today names his squad of eight players who will be tasked with winning pool’s most prestigious team trophy for the first time since 2009.
Wilson has opted for a blend of experience and youth and his eight-man squad will be reduced down to the five who will travel to Blackpool, England at the end of November to contest the 21st annual Mosconi Cup.

Southern wins the first event of the 2014 BWPPA season
The BWPPA raised the curtain on the 2014 season on the 15th/16th March 2014 with the GNO Southern 9-ball Open held at the newly opened BWPPA/BWCSA Wheelchair Cue Sport Academy at Stoke Mandeville, this event is named after the main tour sponsor the Gentleman’s Night Out charity.
We had a great turn out with 19 players entering the event, including Aleksandr Prokopiev who again made the long trip from Russia. We welcomed four new players to the tour, Keith Hance, Jimmy Major, Daniel Lee and Gary Nicholson, and it would be Nicholson who had the best showing at his first event.
