I'm not sure how he does it in these times of apparent economic hardship and restraint, but Tournament Director Ramiz Turulja has once again pulled off what can only be described as a miracle. Not only has he managed to fill a 256 player tournament, and not only does he have 20 players on the wait list, but he's also managed to woo US Superstar Hawaiian Rodney Morris to this continent too.
Edit: Since this article was published, Pro9 has been informed that Francisco's manager has contacted this tournaments organisers and explained that due to contractual obligations Mr. Bustamante is now obliged to attend a San Miguel Beer sponsored event in the Philippines along with 28 other Filipino's and will no longer be able to attend this event.
Maybe it's the balance of the affordable 60 entry fee, or the attractive 13,000+ prize fund? Maybe it's the special side events? My guess is that it's most likely the exceptional hospitality that attracts the horde of Europe's top talented pool players. Whatever it is, it certainly works!
Superb equipment and conditions await Ralf Souquet, Daryl Peach, Raj Hundal, Karl Boyes, Imran Majid, Darren Appleton, Chris melling, Niels Feijen, Nick van den Berg, Carlo Dalmatin, Fabio Petroni and over 250 others will be in attendance, and we will just have to watch the live online video streaming of the action as the event will once again kick off with a big money "ring game" on the Thursday night - great news for fans and players alike!

Dynamic Euro-Tour to be staged in Treviso, Italy, in December
The final Dynamic Euro-Tour of the 2011 season will be played from December 1st to 3rd, 2011, in BHR Hotel in Treviso, Italy.
Since the word spread after last weeks press release about the fact that the recent Dynamic Euro-Tour in Hungary would be the last one for 2011, the Italian Federation has done some immediate research on possible venues for another tournament this year. They came up with a renowned site for Euro-Tour events, the BHR Hotel in Treviso. After submitting all proposals to the Euro-Tour organizers lately, the management of the IBP agreed to have another event in Treviso this year. It will be the second time the tour stops in Treviso after April and the experiences from the previous events are very good. We are looking forward to coming back to BHR Hotel in Treviso once again, said David Morris, IBP President, we only have the best experiences there and we know we can rely on a productive cooperation in order to be able to present the professional setup for our event that our players are used to get.

Dominic Jentsch - Germany I am overwhelmed
Dominic Jentsch (GER) wins the Beassy 8-Ball Worlds Top Gun 2011 with an 8:4 victory over Konstantin Stepanov (RUS) in the final match.
Stepanov committed some avoidable mistakes in the first racks and allowed Jentsch to take a 3:0 lead over him. Then he fought back and equalized the score at 3:3. At that point in time, the match looked like turning over in Stepanovs favour. But Jentsch played his A-game consequently and did not leave any chances for Stepanov to overtake him. To the opposite, Stepanov played some bad shots and had the weaker break than Jentsch. The German dominated the match and won it with a clear 8:4 result in the end.
I am overwhelmed to have won this tournament here, stated Jentsch after the match, I had a bad roll for quite some time and it feels so good to be back again. I think I have played on a high level constantly in the final, said Jentsch when asked about the final. Though the score seems quite clear, I was the lucky winner in the end. My private turning point in this tournament was the 8:7 victory over Andreas Roschkowsky. I would like to thank the organizer Beassy, Beatrix Dobossy and the EPBF for this event. Everything here was so perfect and well organized, it was a privilege to be here and participate in the three events.

Souquet clear as race enters home straight
RALF SOUQUET'S unstoppable run of form has ensured his record-breaking 15th PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup appearance, after winning the Hungarian Open at the weekend. "The Kaiser" followed up wins in the World Pool Masters and the World Cup of Pool in Manila last month with yet another victory which sees him move to second spot behind Chris Melling. These two are now untouchable and will be taking their place in the European line-up at the MGM Grand in December. With just one event to go the US Open there is still a chance for the likes of Daryl Peach, Huidji See and even Mark Gray to come out the pack and claim a Mosconi spot. With 30 points going to the winner, 25 for the runner-up, 20 for a 3/4 place finish and 15 for coming 6-8th, a big performance in Chesapeake may well be enough.
Add to that the fact that Niels Feijen, currently in fifth spot, missed the Hungarian Euro Tour event after being struck by a car whilst out bike riding. However, the word is that "The Terminator" is on the road to recovery and looking to travel to the US Open.

Click the image to view the larger photograph - use "back" to return here. Darren Appleton - Great Britain Darren Appleton wins the first Beassy 9-Ball World Class Open
In a match that was packed with excitement and thrill, Darren Appleton (GBR) defeated Sandor Tot (SRB) with 9:6. Appleton wrote history today. He is the first winner ever of a Beassy event.
The match was equal until both players had three points in their account. At that time, I was a bit disappointed since I thought Id given some racks to Sandor because he had made mistakes and I didnt punish him for it, said Appleton. From then on, Appleton took the lead and never gave it back again. The best Tot was able to do was closing in to a score of 5:7 in favour of Appleton. Tot just played too aggressive and went for shots where he should have gone for the safety option. In the 15th rack when the score was 8:6 in favour of Appleton, Tot scratched and Appleton had a 2-9 combination shot lined up. I just struggled a little bit to get over the line, was Appletons comment when asked about this combination shot since he missed it. It was not an easy shot but it was hard to get position from the 3-ball to the 4-ball. Later on in that rack, Appleton got a good roll by hiding the cue ball behind the 7-ball when he attempted a safety shot. That won me the match, analysed Appleton afterwards. It is important for me to win this title. It gives me good confidence for the US Open that will come up in two weeks time and I am the defending Champion there.

Ralf Souquet and Beatrix Dobossy, Owner of Beassy Ltd. The Kaiser left no doubt he wanted that title
In a final match that was dominated by one player only, Ralf Souquet (GER) subdued Marcus Chamat (SWE) with 8:2.
Like in the whole tournament, Souquets victory was never really in danger. He played rock solid and left no doubt to anyone that he really wanted that title. The early stage of the match was determined by safety play from both players. Chamat had to struggle from the very beginning to keep pace with The Kaiser. Souquet took a quick 3:0 lead over Chamat. Then, Chamat seemed to play the better safeties for a while and that made him win two racks in a row, making the score 3:2 for Souquet. From then on, it was only Souquet pushing the button for win on the score computer. The 10th and final rack summed up what had happened before. Both players were engaged in an intensive safety battle but Chamat scratched while attempting to pocket the 2-ball. He did not need to ask Souquet a second time whether he wanted to win the title. Souquet took the match and the title of the Dynamic Hungary Open Euro-Tour 2011. It is Souquets third win this year on the Euro-Tour after Paris and Treviso and he is now leading the Euro-Tour overall rankings.
I dont know whether Im on the summit of my career, said a modest Souquet in an interview after the final match. I am happy with my achievements these days but I am a perfectionist. I always try to improve. At 42 years of age, I am looking forward for a few more good years. This tournament, I had one match that was close. It went hill-hill. All other matches, I really dominated my opponent so I think it was ok for me to win it. It was definitely ok, Kaiser!

Click the image to view the larger photograph - use "back" to return here. Jayson Shaw - Scotland Gray and Majid also leave the tournament
Jayson Shaw (SCO) defeated David Alcaide (ESP) in the round of the last 32 with 8:5.
It was amazing to see how equally strong two players can play. Both of them showed high class pool and made only few to no mistakes in the beginning of the match. However, when the score was 5:5, Shaw as well as Alcaide seemed to play a bit too careless. Safety shots were executed worse than normal and it was Jayson Shaw who accepted the gift, taking a 6:5 lead over Alcaide. In the 12th rack, Alcaide missed an easy 1-ball and was punished twice since the cue ball scratched in the side pocket. Shaw ran that rack and also the next one with his own break to win the match with 8:5. In the next round Jayson Shaw will face Philipp Stojanovic (CRO) who eliminated Mark Gray (GBR) from the event with 8:5.
