Southern 9 Ball Inter-league Almost Ready To Launch
Introducing the UK Southern 9 Ball Inter-League - The first 9 Ball Team League covering all the Southeren Counties in the UK.
Following huge success with the National GB9 Ball Tour, we have decided to form a Southern Team Inter-League with the intention of growing it to a national scale over the next few seasons.
9 Ball is without doubt increasing with popularity throughout the UK, with more and more venues offering American Pool, as well as Snooker and English Pool.
The format is simple, only 4 Players required to form a team, with each player playing a Race to 5 Set in each League match, with the fifth set being played by the "Captain's Choice" (any of the first 4 players or a 5th player who hasn't yet played).
With Large cash prizes awaiting the finalists, this is a great League for established 9 Ballers, as well as those who are new to the game and are still "learning the ropes."

Mark Gray 2011 Longoni Benelux Open Champion
After seven tough qualification rounds of 10ball, the best 28 players emerged from more than 170 participants. They joined the 2010 Longoni Benelux Open champion Serge Das (Belgium), the 2009 and 2010 Runner-up Niels. The Terminator Feijen (the Netherlands), the 2009 champion Andreas Roschkowsky (Germany) and, last but not least, the reigning World 10ball Champion Huidji See (the Netherlands). Together they formed the Final 32 players. You know Christian Louboutin is a good player.
The main christian louboutin event was played in the double knock out format until the quarter-final. One of the favorites was Thomas Engert (Germany) who started off by handing out a 7-0 donut to Wim Scrayen (Belgium). However, he was promptly halted by a Belgian wall named Serge Das (2nd round) and Curd Persijn (Last 24), who both won with a 7-5 score.
Another favorite, the 2011 Euro Tour Austria Champion Richard Jones (UK), a.k.a. 'Ricardo Indyana Jones' was stopped by German whirlwind Marko Vogel (7-5) and sent to the one loss side. Jones stepped up his game but was eventually stopped in the Last 16 round by the Belgian wall Curd Persijn.
Curd Persijn eventually reached a dead end when he faced fellow countryman Cliff Castelein who's emerging to be quite a dangerous player in the European scene and reached the further stages of the last Euro Tour.
In the quarterfinals, the Benelux (Belgium, the Netherlands and Luxemburg) was represented by five players: none other than Niels Feijen (NL), Huidji See (NL), Brian Beekers (NL), Cliff Castelein (B) and the Serge Das (B). From a total of eleven nations represented at the Longoni Benelux Open, also Germany, Switzerland and the UK joined the Final 8, respectively starring: Andreas Roschkowsky, Dimitri Jungo and Mark Gray.
Castelein faced fellow Longoni Cues player representative Niels 'The Terminator' Feijen. This proved to be a thriller as the Belgian talent shot his way to the hill first. However, the experience of the cool and collected Feijen won the match. 7-6 for The Terminator.

BINGHAM SHOWS HIS BOTTLE TO WIN HIS FIRST TITLE
Stuart Bingham has won his first ever ranking tournament as he clinched a dramatic 9-8 victory over Mark Williams in the final of the 2011 Australian Snooker Goldfields Open.
World number one Williams looked set to win the 19th ranking event of his career as he led 7-4 and 8-5 but Bingham made a stunning recovery to win the last four frames and take the title.
"This is without doubt the best week of my life - it's just an unbelievable feeling," said 35-year-old Bingham, a professional player for 16 years who has experienced the lows and now the highs of snooker.
"This proves the depth in the standard of snooker and shows anyone on the tour can win a tournament if they knuckle down and put the hard work in, that's all I've done.
"It will help all professional players and I've always said you only get out of the game what you put into it.
"I've doubted myself before and when I lost ten matches on the trot my confidence was at an all-time low and you hope and wonder where the next win is coming from."
He had only reached the quarter-finals of ranking events before and had received criticism over a perceived lack of 'bottle' in close matches when under pressure.
That boiled over this week in a bitter public spat with Mark Allen before and after their clash in the last eight, which Bingham, the current world number 15, won.
But the man from Basildon , who was once ranked 76th out of 90 players, believed this victory was the perfect answer to any critics.
"I don't need to say any more. I just have a nice trophy to prove it and $60,000 in the bank," added Bingham. "I don't care what anyone says. I have this for the rest of my life and no one can take this title away from me.
"Now the hard work comes as I have to live up to being a ranking event winner and now I'm the hunted instead of the hunter.
"I've been knocking on the door but now the door is open and I've walked through it and grabbed the trophy with both hands."

 | Innovative Pool Game Seeking League Operators |
POOL300 Scott Willoughby POOL300 Promotions 214-597-5232 www.POOL300.com scott@pool300.com
Monday 18 July 2011
POOL300 plans European expansion over next few weeks.
Don Owen, co-founder of OB Cues, inventor and long-time pool enthusiast, introduced POOL300 to the Dallas/Fort Worth market in 2009, with national expansion kicking off in the coming weeks. Don’s vision for POOL300 is to make league pool play as accessible and fun for players, proprietors, and league operators as league bowling.
POOL300 is a challenging pool game similar to 10-ball that uses standard billiard equipment. Because just about anyone can succeed at POOL300, it gives the proprietor of any establishment with 2 or more pool tables the opportunity to have dedicated players actively attending weekly league events.
In POOL300, clearing the table without missing gets the shooter a strike. Clearing the table with one miss is a spare. POOL300 is 100% offense. When it’s your turn, you’re shooting for yourself, not directly against another player. Players are handicapped in the same way as bowlers so beginners can compete against accomplished players and still have a chance to win.

Ko Pin-Yi (TPE) in action during the final match with Shane Van Boening (USA) Taiwanese Sensation Ko Pin-Yi Wins
Yet again, Taiwan has proven itself a powerhouse contender in the global billiards scene with rising star Ko Pin-Yi delivering a flawless display of pool against renowned 2007 US Open 9-Ball Champion, Shane Van Boening in their race to 10 finals encounter to claim the prestigious 2010 Guinness World Series of Pool Championship crown here at Mal Taman Anggrek Jakarta Indonesia, 10 – 4. Ko’s textbook form in a stunning 8 – 6 upset of tournament top-seed and World No. 1 Dennis Orcollo in their semi-finals clash actually gave an early indication that Van Boening, who earlier trumped Indonesian Irsal Nasution 8 – 4, was in for a tough match-up.
Taking no chances, the American brought out his A-game early and wasted no time in building a 2 – 0 cushion. Fortunately for Ko he was immediately able to bounce back with a break and run out in the 4th rack and able to capitalize on a foul on the 1ball attempt by Van Boening in the 5th to tie the ball game 2 racks each.
Unfortunately for Van Boening, his young opponent was just starting to heat up. Beginning in the 5th frame Ko turned the contest into a lopsided affair breaking and running out three straight times while at the same time taking advantage of two straight dry-breaks from the American to completely dominate by the 8th rack, 6 – 2.
In the 9th a missed cut on the 1ball corner pocket attempt from Ko came as a welcome reprieve for Van Boening who turned the error into a rack conversion to stop the bleeding 3 – 6. At this point however, things were looking bleak for the South Dakota native as his game, which faithfully brought him up to the pinnacle of the tournament was almost non-existent.
Sensing the championship was within his grasp Ko, never looked back - Turning his opponent into a mere spectator with his immaculate breaking and supreme counter safeties. He allowed Van Boening to score just one more before cruising all the way to the championship 10 – 4 and bag the USD41,000.00 top prize. For his admirable efforts Van Boening earns USD11,000.00.
Ecstatic about the win, Ko managed to comment: ‘I prepared really hard for this tournament. Through all that training, I think that helped me keep my emotions in check whenever I felt pressure in my matches. And that proved to be the difference in my game this year. I’m very excited to tell my friends and my parents back home about my win.”

 | Announcing The 2011 GB9 Northern Masters |
The 2011 GB9 Northern Masters, Pro Cup III, & Challenge Cup III Barceló Daventry Hotel Sedgemoor Way Daventry Northamptonshire NN11 0SG United Kingdom www.gb9balltour.com
Friday/Saturday/Sunday 5-7 August 2011
The playing arena at the Barcelo Daventry Hotel 2011 EVENT 3 - GB9 NORTHERN MASTERS
The GB 9 Ball Tour returns swiftly to the Barceló Hotel in Daventry in August for this season's Northern Masters - just seven weeks since the last action packed weekend took place. This event comes fresh off the back of the 2011 World 9-Ball Championship held in Doha, Qatar, which will go down in many people's books as one of the closest fought and most dramatic tournaments in years, perhaps ever. GB9 was well represented over in the middle-east, with some gutsy and often stunning pool guiding our players to some highly notable finishes.
The most prestigious competition in the 9-ball calendar contained no less than 6 current GB9 players; joining them also was former tour player and now United States resident Darren Appleton, all hoping to bring the world title home as Daryl Peach did four years ago. Expectations were high as Darren and Daryl, along with new British number 1 Imran Majid, and also Karl Boyes, Chris Melling, Mark Gray and Scott Higgins progressed through their respective group stage matches to make the round of 64. It was at this stage that Karl Boyes and Imran Majid bid farewell to the field, with last month's Paul Medati Trophy winner Chris Melling and Scott Higgins knocked out in the very next round. Next on their way home was Darren Appleton in the last 16, whereas Daryl Peach fell just two matches short of his second World Championship final, succumbing in the quarter-finals to eventual runner-up and reigning 8-Ball World Champion, Dennis Orcullo. Despite Mark Gray losing his status as British number 1 after last month's Paul Medati Trophy, he made a remarkable run to the semi-finals in Doha, dispatching the likes of Shane van Boening and his very own compatriot Chris Melling before being eliminated at the penultimate hurdle in a pulsating, ultimately heartbreaking, hill-hill encounter by the eventual winner, Yukio Akagariyama of Japan. With the exception of the typically vast and omnipresent Filipino contingent, no country was better represented in the knockout stages of the tournament than Great Britain - a grand yet thoroughly true testament to the state of 9-ball pool in Great Britain.
