Peach beats Gray in most remarkable final ever!
In what must be the most incident packed final ever - Daryl Peach has once again proved his dominance of the professional pool scene in Great Britain, with another outstanding quality performance at the British Professional Pool Players Association's St. Albans Open in Hertfordshire this weekend.
This outstanding result for Peach reinforces his totally justified position as the clear leader at the top of the BPPPA rankings leader-board, and quite rightly so, as he has notched up an incredible four wins outs of the last 8 events (and he has only attended 7 of those).
Peach deserves more recognition than he gets from the "powers that be" who have long overlooked Britain's best player for far too long.
His dominance of the British Professional Pool Player's Association rankings, and an equally impressive omnipresence in the top ten of the EPBF's Europe wide EuroTour make him a force to be reckoned with, and a disgracefully under utilized asset.

Pro9 Promotions is organising a local qualification tournament at Rileys Victoria on Saturday 1st July for one of the most prestigious tournaments in Europe: THE NORWEGIAN 9-BALL CHALLENGE 2006.
The entry fee to THE NORWEGIAN 9-BALL CHALLENGE 2006 is €140 and all entry fees will go to prize money, with a minimum of 128 participants, €10.000 is guaranteed for the first prize, with a total prize fund of €22.500.
The entry fee for the qualifier is just £25 and EVERY PENNY will go to the TWO qualifiers to cover entry, flights, hotel and expenses - the more entries, the bigger the prize fund, so enter AND bring a friend or two!!!
Tony "The Tornado" Drago, from Malta, and Imran Majid from Great Britain, who recently won the Eurotour in Italy have both registered, along with Ronnie O'Sullivan and Raj Hundal, and all are looking forward to their visit to Oslo this summer.

Great Britain's National Referee Success Story
The British Professional Pool Players Association have successfully completed the training of the first ever National Referees to qualify in Great Britain under the new EPBF/WPA educational programme. There have been qualified referees in the UK before, but previously referees had to leave these shores to qualify, sometimes travelling as far afield as the United States. These candidates mark a new milestone in the history of the sport in the UK as the first referees to qualify in the UK.

A short interview with Mark Gray
The matches are at set times so it's easy to grab a player between matches and have a chat, I saw my chance and nabbed Mark Gray after his semi-final match match with Rico Diks. Here's what he had to say when I asked him the classic opening question about how he feels now that he's in the final?
"I'm pretty surprised really, I've not really played 8-ball much, although saying that, I played once before and won the tournament at St. Albans so obviously it's more my game than 9-Ball I reckon. Rico's a great player and that's a superb result for me."

Ex-snooker player Mark Gray has beaten Ex-English pool player Darren Appleton by a massive 10 frames to 3 in the final of the Empire Pool Tour's inaugural event, The Manchester 8-Ball Open at Rileys American pool and Snooker Club in Stretford Mall, Manchester.
Gray's rather unorthodox break with it's super fast feathering and massive "whole body" follow-through, was patchy at best, and although his breaks were the more productive of the two player's, it was Gray's superior skill when "in amongst the balls" that provided the clear edge in this rather one-sided final.
