5th International Pool Festival - take a holiday to the Costa del Sol and take part.
The 1st phase is played in groups, race to six, with a maximum of six players, Round-Robin style, the top three players (50%) from each group advance to the final phase.
The final phase includes the 48 qualifiers and the top 16 from last year's tournament. 64 players, straight knockout race to 8.

Imran Majid wins GB9 Scarborough Cup Main Event!
Well, it doesn't happen often, but after watching the final of the GB9 Yorkshire Cup's main event it has to be said - I'm speechless!!! The best GB9 final ever! This match between Scott Higgins and Imran Majid had everything, including a massive comeback by Imran from 10-5 behind, an almost impossible task considering the alternate break format, but the "Maharaja" doggedly clawed his way back to take the title for an unbelievable 4th consecutive win.
To add a little spice to the pot, there was a huge "tweak" as Higgins missed a short and straight 5ball that would have taken him over the hill, and then in the final hill-hill match the spectators spotted a dry break, but neither player noticed.
Higgins still had his hand over his mouth in disbelief at his previous miss, and Majid had his back turned as he was collecting his playing cue, but the knowledgeable audience noticed that the break didn't score the requisite points!

International stars shine, but it's a home win in North Cyprus!
Despite a plethora of the regular international touring stars appearing at North Cyprus's International 9 Ball Tournament, it was pleasing to see a Turkish player win the event.
There were heavyweight hitters from Hungary (Vilmos Foldez), Serbia (Sandor Tot and Andrea Klasovic), Belgium's Serge Das, and even Israel (Dror Dobronsky and Zion Zvi), but it was Turkish player Tolga Yukselir who took the top prize with an 11-10 win after a hill-hill battle with Andrea Klasovic in the final.

Christopher Robson is Challenge Cup victor!
Chris Robson was the surprise winner at the GB9 Yorkshire Cup's Challenge Division event. Robson went into the final as the underdog to the more fancied Scott Higgins, but after a series of positional errors by his opponent duly punished by Robson, he was rewarded with the trophy for two day's of consistently high quality pool. Belfast Venue Hosts The 2008 All Ireland American 9-Ball Pool Championships
Entries are now being accepted for the 6th annual All Ireland Open 9Ball Championship and the annual All Ireland Under-21 9Ball Championship with both events taking place at Frames Snooker and Pool Club in Donegal Street, Belfast City Centre on Saturday 26th July.
These two prestigious events has produced some great champions over the years and always attracts top Cue-sport players from all over Ireland and overseas and hopefully this year will be no different when all players will be trying to write themselves into the history books.
The organisers are asking all players to please enter both tournaments a.s.a.p. but all are reminded that the cut-off date for seeding is Thursday 24th July 2008.
