Entries are now being accepted for the 6th annual All Ireland Open 9Ball Championship and the annual All Ireland Under-21 9Ball Championship with both events taking place at Frames Snooker and Pool Club in Donegal Street, Belfast City Centre on Saturday 26th July.

These two prestigious events has produced some great champions over the years and always attracts top Cue-sport players from all over Ireland and overseas and hopefully this year will be no different when all players will be trying to write themselves into the history books.

The organisers are asking all players to please enter both tournaments a.s.a.p. but all are reminded that the cut-off date for seeding is Thursday 24th July 2008.

Click on "Read More..." for the details.

These prestigious 9-ball championships are rated alongside the All Ireland 8-Ball Pool Championships, as the two most prestigious and high profile events on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 ball pool tour, with the outright winner writing themselves into the history books on Ireland’s Hall of Fame going alongside some of the great players who have already been inducted Kevin Smith (England), John Wims (Kildare), Pat Holtz (Scotland), Daryl Peach (England) and the 2006 All Ireland 9-Ball Pool Champion Sam Gibson (Antrim).

Not only will the outright winner be inducted into the Hall of Fame they will also receive a cheque for a substantial amount of prize-money and the beautiful crystal trophy for their efforts.

England's Daryl Peach (winner) and Ireland's Ronnie Boyle (runner-up) who contested
the final in 2005's All Ireland American 8Ball Pool Championships
in which Daryl won on a 9-4 score-line.

Entries are already being accepted from players throughout the 32 counties of Ireland and internationally and the organisers would like to see more new players coming forward and getting involved in this event which is classed as the biggest American 9-ball tournament in Ireland.

This 8 and 9 ball game, is becoming the fastest growing cue-sport game in the world never mind in this country with big events taking place all the time in both individual and team involving Irish players men, ladies, juniors and wheelchair who represent this country at the European Championships, Nations Cup and the World Championships.
