Top ranked players seem invulnerable to challenges once again
The Scottish American Pool Players Association have just posted the latest provisional rankings for 2008 after two tournaments at Kirkcaldy at the weekend, and once again Pat Holtz is still sitting pretty as the big cheese in Scotland.
The big winners this time were Stevie Capaldi (8 Ball Masters Champion) who consolidated his position at 8th, and Jayson Shaw (Tour Stop 6 Champion) making the leap from 14th to 11th. Scott Gillespie, also saw a welcome rise of two places from 12th to 10th. All these upward movements were at the expense of Jim O'Hare and Tam Talent who both drop one place, and Chris Fraser, who lost two places, now down to 13th.

Final Names Added to Starting Line Up
THE final names have been added to the players’ roster for the forthcoming 2008 PartyPoker.net World Pool Masters which takes place at the Riviera Hotel and Casino from May 9 to May 11.
Filipino superstars Francisco Bustamante and Alex Pagulayan have confirmed their attendance as well as top-rated Europeans Ralf Souquet ( Germany ) and Niels Feijen of Holland.
With 16 players in the field competing for a $62,000 prize fund, event promoters Matchroom Sport believe they have assembled the strongest line-up yet in the 16 year history of the event.
“With four World 9 Ball Champions, six US Open Champions and a host of other title-holders in the field, I believe that this will be the toughest ever World Pool Masters,” said Matchroom Sport Chairman Barry Hearn.

Tony "The Tornado" Drago wins the French Euro Tour
In a thrilling final in which the lead was held by both players at various times, London resident Tony Drago who entered the final as the clear 3/5 favourite beat Germany's Christian Reimering with a 10:6 scoreline.
The Maltese player lived up to his name as he stormed through the field conceding the bare minimum of racks to his opponents - only Britain's Darren Appleton managed to threaten "The Tornado's" progress after a hill-hill scare in the last 16 stage, but after that it was plain sailing as he slew opponent after opponent with his dominating quick-fire style of play.

IBPF – Kozoom cooperation comes to an end
As you maybe aware by now from the Kozoom press release dated February 22, the cooperation between IBP foundation and Kozoom came to an end last Thursday. When cooperation comes to an end it is always sad but these things happen on a daily basis in the business world.
The IBPF and our other business partners have their own aims to achieve and sometimes these aims are not what everyone believes in. When this is the case, then one or both parties have to decide if they want to continue or not. Each party has to carefully consider their options and take their own responsibility to their decision and not blame one another for that decision.

We’re very sorry to announce the end of Kozoom’s involvement in the Eurotour series. When we first introduced the EPBF/IBP to Eurosport in December 2005, the goal for us was to help them bring the series to pan-European broadcasting. We had high hopes.
For the last two years, we have been producing hundreds of hours of high quality livestream, many TV programs and DVDs that have brought visibility to the sponsors, the organizers and the players.
Because we believe a professional sport can’t grow without quality media coverage, we invested a lot of time and effort to improve these events. For us, this is the only way to make our sport reach the mainstream audience it deserves and it took a lot of efforts on our side to keep this partnership alive both for the television and the livestream.
