Last year Pat Holtz overcame the largest field ever to play in a SAPPA event to take the 2006 Carlsberg Scottish 9-Ball Championships with an enthralling 10-9 win over Scott Gillespie in the final, after a total of 96 players came to play at the popular Styx American Pool Bar venue in Kirkcaldy.
A warm welcome from the locals is the trademark of the area, and Mario Caira's staff will look after you as if you were one of their own, so if you haven't been to Scotland this year, now is your chance.

The next event will be the Scottish 9 Ball Championship on 20th/21st October 2007 at Styx, Kirkcaldy with £2,500 prize money on offer. Entry fee for this event will be £25 members and £40 non-members. The format is double elimination down to the last 16 and then straight KO. Last year's event attracted 96 players and another big turnout is expected this year.

An invitation to the 2007 Barnsley 9 Ball Open
Get a whole weekend of pool for £36 entry at one of Rileys best clubs, and £250 prize money added by Rileys with the potential for a £1000 top prize.
There will be a plate competition too, with money added for all players not in the money in the main event.
If that wasn't enough there's a Special Event on Saturday night with top players from the UK (and possibly Europe) playing for a £4000 top prize. Compulsive viewing for all players at the end of a hard day’s pool!
Other special events will be running throughout the weekend (e.g. Speed pool, straight pool shootout, poker), so don't miss what is probably the last big UK American Pool event of 2007 before we bring you the GB9BT.

China Take World Cup in Thriller!
CHINA ARE the 2007 PartyPoker.net World Cup of Pool champions after holding off a marvelous comeback from Finland at the Outland Nightclub in Rotterdam . It was a fantastic victory for Li He-wen and Fu Jian-bo and they can look forward to receiving all the plaudits when they return to their home country.
11-10 was the final score but at 10-6 up and breaking for the match, a Chinese victory seemed a certainty but a combination of nerves and some terrific Finnish heart took the game into a thrilling final rack.

Hundal takes £1,000 trophy on offer in Bournemouth
Hundal, Osborne, Massey, Walsh, Buckmaster... They all went to Bournemouth Rileys, played some quality pool and tried to win the beautiful £1,000 trophy on offer. Everyone agreed Raj Hundal was the favourite on the day, and true to form, the London player took the spoils of war back to Hounslow.
The event was organised to celebrate the acquisition of the CueSportGroup and the Bunjee Cues UK licensing deal by Bournemouth player Mark Collins, who personally guaranteed the £1,000 first prize.
