T9B National Series Results Event 1 - Solihull
T9B National Series Results Event 1 Rileys Sports Bar & Bingo Club Hobs Moat Road Solihull West Midlands B92 8JN www.rileys.co.uk www.t9b.co.uk - Live scoring - Chat from this event
Saturday/Sunday 3-4 February 2013

Tony Drago at the T9B event in Solihull as the tour rolls out it's national open series. Stars come out for Solihull T9B National Series Event 1
Total9Ball rolled out Event One of it's National Series held at Solihull Rileys over the weekend of the 2nd and 3rd of February. This was the first event of six to be played around the country with the Final event being held in Leicester on the 14th and 15th September.
The field of players was rammed full of talent, Craig Osborne, Karl Boyes, Mark Gray and Tony Drago to name a few and personally I was so proud to have some many big names at an event of mine. Over the past three years Total9Ball has built up a reputation for running the best amateur series in the UK. We have now expanded to offer all players some action with this National Open Series and the new season of the Amateur Series which begins next Saturday (9th February at St Albans Hurricane Room).
38 players joined us at Solihull Rileys for Event one for this fantastic new National Series sponsored by Kamui and it was great to see so many new faces. All players were entered into the draw twice giving each player a minimum of two matches and also two chances to get into the prize money round. This format is called double chance 'The Undefeated' it was designed by Phil Wildman founder of Total9Ball. The feedback since this was created has been amazing and to hear top players such as Mark Gray and Richard Jones from the British Pool Federation say it's the best format in the UK was fantastic.

FOLLOWING ON from the huge success of the PartyPoker.net Mosconi Cup in London last month, Matchroom Sport can announce that both the American and European sides for the 2013 event, which takes place in Las Vegas in December, will comprise entirely of wildcard picks.
Europe won their third Mosconi Cup in succession in December but not before the game American side had given them plenty of scares in the 11-9 victory at the York Hall. The defeat though meant America have now won pool’s most prestigious trophy just once in the past seven years.
This December will see the landmark 20th edition of the Europe v USA challenge and the overall score stands at 11-7 to America with one match tied. 2013 also marks 100 years since the birth of cue sports legend Willie Mosconi and 20 years since the great man’s death.
Commented Matchroom Sport Chairman and Mosconi Cup founder Barry Hearn, “When I first promoted the Mosconi Cup back in December 1994 it was an instant hit, and it has been very satisfying to have seen it grow into the biggest tournament on the pool calendar.
“Last December at the York Hall saw one of the closest Mosconi Cups of recent times and we were rewarded with fantastic viewing figures on Sky Sports as well as blanket live coverage on ESPN3 in the USA.
“2013 will see a very special event in many ways as it is its 20th year and we plan to make Mosconi Cup XX the biggest and best one yet.
“We will be pulling out the stops to bring the biggest names in pool from both sides of the Atlantic together for a humdinger of a match and I hope that the competition has helped cement Willie Mosconi’s legacy and kept his name alive to new generations of pool fans.”
Exact venue details as well as the dates of the 20th annual Mosconi Cup will be announced in the coming weeks.

EAG Expo - Familiar faces gather at London's 2013 trade expo!
EUROPEAN AMUSEMENT AND GAMING EXPO ExCeL London Exhibition Centre One Western Gateway Royal Victoria Dock London E16 1XL www.eagexpo.com - Trade only www.excel-london.co.uk www.bacta.org.uk
22-24th January 2013
EAG Expo - A Great Place To Do Business
The EAG is, as the name would suggest, primarily aimed at the gaming machine market, and that's what makes up the vast majority of the exhibitors, "fruit" machines, arcade games, pinball, and a plethora of companies who make the technology that fits inside them. However, there's room and flexibility to accommodate other industries, and so, as there seems to be no expo specifically targeted for our industry, each year, a handful of pool/billiard businesses descend on London for a bit of networking and to showcase the newest product offerings and latest inventions.
This year's event featured stands from SAM Leisure, Suzo Happ, Heywood Pool & Snooker (Supreme), Valley Dynamo, a Czech cloth manufacturer call Tool Billiard, and e-Service - a spares and repair company, as well as several big name walk-in visitors from home and abroad.

WPBL Press Release - WPBL Duped By Las Vegas Contractor
World Professional Billiard League Bonus Ball Studio Las Vegas Nevada USA www.wpbl.tv - facebook - twitter - official rules www.playbonusball.com
Tuesday 22 January 2013

WPBL Press Release - WPBL Duped By Las Vegas Contractor
Over the past few months the World Professional Billiard League has experienced several setbacks arising from construction delays and the acquisition of city permits. Both the WPBL staff and its players have tried their best to remain patient and understanding, regardless of obvious frustrations and unease.
With only two weeks away from completion of the TV arena, we sensed something was awry and hired an investigator. Unfortunately the results were not pleasant. As it turns out, the construction crew had their business license revoked shortly after being contracted, yet opted not to disclose this information. Their license was revoked due to fraud. Without that license they were working at the WPBL studio illegally, and unable to secure the necessary permits. The past three months of delays were intentional on their part, in attempt to stall until they could somehow secure a permit. All money paid to the construction crew for permits was pocketed, and talk of successfully acquired permits was entirely false.
Due to fraud and numerous illegal activities, the construction crew has now been fired, and will face pending legal action from the WPBL, as well as the state of Nevada. The proper permits are now being acquired through a qualified city official, and a new contractor is being sought to finish construction. More information should be known to us later this week, such as the status of the venue permits, and the duration of any additional delays.

The 9th Interpool Open - 2013 Interpool Gävle Södra Kungsgatan 20 Gävle Sweden www.interpoolopen.com www.biljardforbundet.se

Click the image to view the larger poster (use "back" to return here). Sweden extends a warm welcome to European players
In 2006 Marcus Chamat won this event, and after years of trying, he finally claimed the elusive 2nd victory at his home tournament, taking the Interpool Open title in 2012.
The roll-call of entrants for the Interpool Open is ever growing and full of illustrious names including in recent years, Tony Drago, Niels Feijen, Daryl Peach, Mika Immonen, Dennis Grabe, Torbjorn Blomdahl, and Ewa Mataya Lawrence, but the list of champions is a more modest affair.
Rodney Morris took the title in 2011. and Marcus has now won it twice. Raj Hundal has done the same double but in consecutive years, but Ralf Souquet has had the most success at this event with a hat-trick of wins - but who will take the trophy in 2013?
Well, it could be you! An open invitation is extended to all players to enter the 2013 event once again hosted by Marcus Chamat. This is always a popular event, and as well as celebrity players it always features some interesting "Special Event" extras... Good luck!

Selby beats Robertson in Betfair Masters Final
The 2013 Betfair Masters Alexandra Palace Alexandra Palace Way London Greater London N22 7AY www.worldsnooker.com - livescore www.alexandrapalace.com
13-20 January 2013
Mark Selby is the 2013 Betfair Masters champion
Mark Selby has won snooker's biggest invitational tournament of the year and pocketed a cool £175,000 for his efforts, along with the 2013 Betfair Masters title and trophy, after putting in a superb performance in the final with a 10-6 win over Australia's Neil Robertson.
Selby led the scoring in the final match from start to finish and never looked troubled, despite a gallant rally by Robertson to take the score to 8-6.
World No.1, Selby, was nearly eliminated by Graeme Dott during their semi-final match as the Scot took a commanding lead, but in a late night tussle that lasted 5 hours, Selby staged an unlikely come-back to book his place in the final.
Graeme Dott and Shaun Murphy take £40,000 each for the semi-final finishes, while Neil Robertson bagged an £85,000 consolation prize for the runner up spot!
