Katarzyna Wesolowska (POL) Foto: EPBF/AMM Women’s event ends with a one-sided final
Sunday, 19 August 2012: In a one-sided match, Katarzyna Wesolowska (POL) defeated Caroline Roos (SWE) 6:2 and snatched the title of this year’s Dynamic Billiard Germany Open for women.
Wesolowska dominated the match from start to finish. She met with Roos already in the winner’s qualification round of this event and creamed her 6:1 there. Whether that was still on Roos’ mind, who knows. But Roos never seemed to get in the game. Wesolowska found the better safety shots and she performed great. Deservedly, she won the match and got the title. Roos will be the nr.1 of the European Women Ranking after this event.

Approaching final stages of the T9B Double Chance Series opener
Total 9 Ball - Double Chance Series 2012 The St Albans Hurricane Room Unit 8 Verulam Industrial Estate 224 London Road St Albans, Hertfordshire AL1 1JF www.hurricaneroom.co.uk www.t9b.co.uk - Challonge Results
Saturday 18 August 2012
Big Guns Firing as Final Stage Approaches
A massive 42 players registered for this event, originally slated as a 32 player tournament, but as the closing date for entries neared, the calls from enthusiastic T9Ball'ers didn't stop, right up until the last day.
A thrilling testament to the sterling effort put in by Phil Wildman pre-tournament, and if truth be told, a superb support role by his partner Nicole Hansen keeping the matches running efficiently throughout the day.
St Albans Hurricane Room is about three quarters of the way through a major refurbishment, but it's fair to say it's a great club even as it is. A wide variety of food is on offer, from hot and spicy panini, through the very popular and affordable pizza option, to a hopefully very tasty curry!
It's clear that Manager, David Beale takes great pride and care in his stewardship of this club, explaining how the refurbishment is going, and it has to be said, there are some really nice touches around the club. The English 8 Ball area is really spacious, and the equipment is clearly second to none. The Snooker match room still smells of fresh paint and is coming along nicely, and the players all talk in glowing terms of the nine ball equipment too.
Players still in contention in the closing stage include Luke Rollison who has already advanced to the semi-final of the first tournament, but he has been eliminated from the second event already.
Courtney Symons, Mark Lunn, Phil Wildman, Ramesh Ghokul have all reached the quarter finals, but there is one player with a chance of winning both sides of the tournament, and potentially meeting himself in the final to scoop the ultimate amount of prize money available by sweeping up the maximum prize from both events - and that's tournament organiser, Phil Wildman... Good luck Phil.

Dynamic Germany Open - And the champion is…… PEACH !

Champion Daryl Peach (GBR) Foto: EPBF/AMM Peach turns the final around and terminates “The Terminator”
Saturday, 18 August 2012: In a final match that was second to none with regards to action, Daryl Peach (GBR) eliminated Niels Feijen (NED) with 8:7.
It was kind of a rematch between Feijen and Peach. A few weeks ago, they met in the final of the Benelux Open. Back then, Peach had the better end and defeated Feijen so that the Dutch had to settle for second place. And the same destiny awaited him today.
After some high class pool, Feijen was 7:3 ahead and it looked as if no-one could take the title away from him anymore. But one shot turned the match for Daryl Peach. In the 11th rack, Feijen played a nice safe and Peach could not even see the 1-ball. Peach took his time and measured all the angles… and called the 10-ball in the corner pocket. He then shot the cue ball in the side cushion, kicked into the 1-ball which kicked into the 10-ball… and made it in the called pocket! What a shot! “Sometimes when you are standing with your back against the wall, you have to go for these shots”, said Peach after the final. “I knew I could still get him”. That shot probably caused two things: Peach’s self confidence rose to the sky and Feijen started thinking. As the match went along, Feijen committed two easy mistakes while Peach played second to none. He tied the match at 7:7. In the 15th rack, both players exchanged safety shots. It was again Feijen who left a shot for Peach. The Brit took his chance and completed his marvelous comeback, winning the match with 8:7 and taking the tournament title. “I always believed that I could win this match, even when I was trailing 3:7”, said Peach with a smile…

Heartbreaks & Triumph for Liu at Women's World 10-Ball Heats!
Stage 1 of Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship Robinsons Galleria EDSA cor. Ortigas Avenue Quezon City Philippines www.RobinsonsMalls.com www.womensworld10ball.com - facebook www.DragonPromotions.com
Saturday 18 August 2012
Taiwan's Shin Mei Liu had a soul testing 2 days at the Qualifiers in Manila. Japan Redeems
Manila, Philippines- Japan finally ended it's dry streak of 3 qualifiers where none of its 8 members scoring a single spot into the Yalin Women's World 10-Ball Championship. In the final qualifier, both Kimura Maki and Junko Tsuchiya defeated their foreign foes to take the final 2 spots into the main stage of the World Championship. However there was one final sudden death qualifier held due to the unexpected cancellation of one of the main event's entrants. This proved to be the saving grace for one special player at the end of the late night.
The most dramatic moment of the World Championship so far took place in the final match between Japan's Tsuchiya and Taiwan's former 2x World Champion Shin Mei Liu. Liu had played in 3 qualifying heats already and lost in 2 finals. This was now her 3rd finals. Tsuchiya was the underdog but leapt to an amazing 5-0 lead in the race to 7 games. Even more incredibly, Liu broke and ran 6 consecutive racks to take the lead back 6-5. Somehow Tsuchiya managed to tie the match at 6-6 pushing it to a nailbiting final game. With needing only the final 3 balls on the table, Liu seemingly had it in the bag when she abruptly missed an easy 8-Ball. Looking doomed, Liu sat down while Tsuchiya seemed to have the case game when she made the 8-Ball and then left herself out of position on the 9-ball. She missed the 9-ball and a ray of hope came to Liu. Liu had no offensive shot, so she opted for a safety behind the 10-ball which was laying perfect for that shot. She made a great safety, but unexpectedly she accidentally made the 9-ball! Because she did not call the pocket intended, the inning ended and Tsuchiya was given another turn and she was left with a very easy 10-ball for the win. Heartbreak!
