PREVIOUS Championship winning duos of Efren Reyes and Francisco Bustamante (Philippines 2006) China’s Li Hewen and Fu Jianbo (2007) and 2008 victors Rodney Morris and Shane Van Boening (USA) will all be the SM City North Mall from 1-6 September in pursuit of the PartyCasino.net World Cup of Pool.
With 32 two teams competing, representing 31 nations, event promoters Matchroom Sport in association with Solar Sport of the Philippines, can announce the players taking part in pool’s most prestigious team event.

69th Predator World Straight Pool Championship
It will be another talented field of straight pool masters at this year's 69th Annual Predator World 14.1 Championship. The Dragon Promotions revived event is in its 4th consecutive year alive with help of industry giants such as Predator, Ozone Billiards, Brunswick Billiards, Simonis Cloth, Master Chalk, Aramith Balls, Accu-Stats and the Laser Rack. Comet Billiards will host this year's event which will start play on August 24, 2009 and end August 29. The greatest straight pool players from around the world will arrive on USA's east coast again to New Jersey, and attend this prestigious event to play for the coveted title of World Straight Pool Champion.
The format for the event will be 48 players round robin race to 100 the first 3 days. Half the field will be cut and the final 24 will play a double elimination board race to 150, with the #1 seed in each group from round robin getting a bye first round. 16 players will make it out of the double elimination board and advance to the final stage single elimination race to 200 points.
This year marks the 69th World Tournament for 14.1, and stars such as Thorsten Hohmann, John Schmidt, Ralf Souquet, Danny Harriman, Tony Robles, and Mika Immonen are just a few of the powerful list of world beaters who will come to play in the greatest straight pool tournament in the world.

World Ten Ball Championship Set in November
FOR the second consecutive year, the World Ten Ball Championship will be held in Manila, with the World Trade Center in the Philippine capital serving as venue when the event unfolds on November 25-30. This was jointly announced Monday (August 3) by the World Pool-Billiard Association and Raya Sports.
The only world men’s championship this year, the WTBC offers a total prize fund of $250,000 (champion’s prize, $75,000) and some 300 players from over 50 countries are expected to participate in the main tournament and qualifying tournament.
The World Trade Center, home to major international events and exhibitions in the Philippines, will be hosting a world pool championship for the first time. Like the 2008 venue, the Philippine International Convention Center, the WTC is located in the Manila Bay area, with many hotels, restaurants and malls close by.
The qualifying tournament, which comprises 10 events, will be held on Nov. 19-23 at the Star Billiards Center in Quezon City, which has hosted three world-championship qualifiers three years in a row.

Debut event for Darkside Promotions declared a huge success
Saturday 8th August 2009, was the premiere event for Darkside Promotions hosted at the exclusive and chic Club 147 in Leicester. Considering this was just the first event of many more to come for DP it was a great success and a huge step forward for UK American pool.
Firstly a big thank you. Darkside Promotions would like to thank Ash, Ram and all of the staff at Club 147 for a superb show of hospitality warm welcoming nature.
The tables and setting were second to none and a big shout out must go to Tony Weafer for his help in bringing the tables to a standard that offered great consistent playing conditions. Also, thanks to Paul Morgan who also helped out in this department.
A very big thanks to Jason Lawrence and McDermott Handcrafted custom cues who was able to supply us with the cue for the raffle and speed break competition and offer guidance to any players interested in their products. Also, thanks to Jason for helping to organise some other behind the scenes tasks too!

World Team Championship in Hannover, featuring supporting billiard exhibition
From January 30th to February 7th 2010, the gaze of billiard fans from across the globe will be directed at the Hannover exhibition center where, for the first time ever, the international World Team Championship in billiards are being staged.
The event organizer is Basevents Europe Ltd. in cooperation with Fachausstellungen Heckmann GmbH, a member of the Deutsche Messe Group of Companies. The championships are officially supported by the World Pool Billiard Association.
Some 200 professionals from around the world will compete from January 30th to February 7th in exhibition hall 13 for a total of 400,000 dollars in prize money. Commitments have already been received from Ralf Souquet (40), multiple winner of the World Pool Masters and the US Open, as well as from Oliver Ortmann (42), two-time world and 14-time European champion as well as from world and European champion Thorsten Hohmann

50 000 Euro prize fund for each Predator International 10-Ball Tour
After much anticipation, the Predator International 10-Ball Tour is coming to Europe. The first event will take place at the Sport Complex in Anadia, Portugal from September 10-12, 2009. With players from all over the world competing on 21 tables, this inaugural event promises to be the largest ever on European soil. The top two finishers will automatically qualify for the World 10 Ball Championship, scheduled for November 25-30, 2009 at the World Trade Center in Manila.
The event is sanctioned by the European Pocket Billiard Federation and WPA rules will govern all matches. Assuming 64 or more entrants, players will compete for a guaranteed prize fund of 50,000 euros (more than $70,000).
