Dragon Promotions is pleased to announce The 5th Annual Asia 10-Ball Championships which will take place November 10-14, 2008 at the Hamilton Hotel, Seoul Korea. The event will be broadcast on XTM and XPORTS, two of the top channels in South Korea.
Top names in the field so far include Mika Immonen FIN, Rodney Morris USA, Thorsten Hohmann GER, Raj Hundal IND, Lee Chenman HK, and Young Hwa Jeong KOR. The event will pay a guaranteed $10,000 to the winner of the men's division and $3500 to the winner of the women's division.

"Granite" Mark Gray wins GB9 British Grand Prix Main Event
"Obviously I'm well happy to win the last one, and to beat Imran for a change" said Mark Gray from Peterborough after he won the GB9 British Grand Prix - the final event of the GB9 Ball Tour season, beating Tour supremo Imran Majid 11-6 in the final of the Main Event at Mansfield.
"It's a shame it's the last one for me now, because it's my first victory this season, I'm usually one of the winners but the standard this year now on the English circuit is getting so tough, I'm just one of 12 or 14 players capable of winning The Pro Cup and the Main Event."

Rileys Moseley, led by GB9 Ball Tour Professional Jonathan Mathers, have taken the title of Midlands Mosconi Cup Champions 2008.
After a gruelling day of play which saw them steal the top place in their group from Rack n Roll by winning their final singles match, dominate Solihull ‘A’ in their semi final with a 6-2 scoreline before continuing their strong form to take down Solihull ‘B’ in the final 6-1.

Appleton stops Majid's run by winning GB9 Northern Masters
Imran Majid's incredible winning streak of 29 consecutive matches including 5 tournament championship victories has come to an end in Manchester at the hands of Darren Appleton, former English 8 Ball Pool champion in the semi-final stage of the Main Event.
Appleton then beat reigning World Pool Champion Daryl Peach in the final, and appeared particularly determined throughout the tournament, taking extra time at the start of every rack, planning the route of every run-out.
This was the first event that the GB9 have implemented the higher rack position - with the nine-ball on the foot spot, forcing many players to adopt a more powerful break putting a stop to the virtually guaranteed "wing-ball-on-the-break" that came with the old "tapped" rack position.
Of the final against Peach, Appleton said, "We broke pretty well, but it wasn't always coming out good, so there was a lot of safety", "it's been a long day and we didn't really focus as good as we can do, but I probably played a little bit better than him, on the day, and that was the difference I think in the end."
"It's a frustrating game sometimes, you can play very well and lose, and you can play average and win."
Appleton paid tribute to semi-finalist Imran Majid saying, "to beat Imran in the semi's was a massive win. I felt a lot of pressure to beat him because obviously he hasn't lost this year, so that was a massive thing".

Bigger Prize-Money For 2009 Ireland’s 8-Ball Pro-Am
Ireland’s Invitation 8-Ball Pro-Am Pool Tournament which is regarded as the biggest 8-ball pool tournament ever to take place in Ireland will be returning to the province next year once again with the 2009 event bigger and better than ever with the prize-money increasing from £7,400 to £9,000 with the winner receiving a cheque for £3,000 moving up from £2,500 last year and not forgetting the beautiful crystal trophy.
This prestigious event and fantastic weekend will take place from Friday 27th February - Sunday 1st March 2009 played at the Lough Erne Hotel, Kesh, Co. Fermanagh and the organisers will be inviting 16 of the worlds top players which is eight more than last years event with a few well known professional snooker players included in the line-up.
