Ouschan begins strong!
The defending champion at the Enjoypool.com Open in Las Vegas (formerly the BCA Open) Jasmin Ouschan from Austria had a very strong start in this tournament.
In Round 1 she crushed Vicki Paski (USA) in just 45 minutes with a 9:0 score.
"Normally I always start a little defensive in a tournament. But as the defending champion many people expect a lot from me. It was a really good and strong match and I missed only one ball and my opponent was only able to pot one ball in the entire match. Of course a match like this happens not that way often but I’m in a good mood that I can continue playing on a high level".

Matchroom Sport is delighted to announce that they have joined forces with Brighton-based inventor and cue sports enthusiast Des Morley to make his exciting new Flexi-Rest product the Official Rest at Matchroom Sport’s roster of pool and snooker tournaments through 2007.
The Flexi-Rest is a modern and unique rest designed to solve all problem shots in cueing sports. The difference between the Flexi-Rest and all other rests is that the Flexi-Rest is not static.
It is flexible, enabling a player to bend the rest in-between, over and around any obstructing balls during the course of a game. The Flexi-Rest is bendable, but once in the required position, is also ridged enough to take the weight and power of a cue while executing a shot.

Daryl Peach pays huge compliment to fellow finalist at Stafford
Daryl Peach can't stop winning at the moment, last week it was the EPBF's EuroTour in Germany - a win that pushed his ranking to number three in Europe! This week it's the British Professional Pool Players Association's national ranking event in Stafford, and although all the silverware is going home with him to Blackpool, he did have time to praise fellow finalist Stewart Colclough.
Appearing in his first ever ranking event final, Stewart had his opponent in trouble on a couple of occasions, admitted Peach. Indeed Colclough was leading in the vital late stages of the final with scores of 7-6 and 9-7 in the race-to-eleven format, but a couple of unfortunate misses at crucial moments let Peach capitalise and pull back the lead to win the match 11-9.

Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour are proud to announce the staging of the official 2007 All Ireland American 9-Ball Pool Championships - an OPEN tournament, and the Under 21 9-Ball Championships for 2007.
Taking place in Frames snooker and pool club Belfast on Saturday 28th July 2007 and cueing off at 10-am but all players are reminded they must pre-enter this event as there is no guarantee of entries being accepted on the day of the tournament.

Qualifiers will be held from June 2 - June 30 to earn playing berths for the 2007 Predator World Straight Pool Championship. Each qualifier will have 2 winners who will receive a free entry fee into the main event.
This year's event will be even more prestigious and more in demand as players are already stacking up the alternate list for an invite to the 64 player limited field in the main event. North West American Pool & Snooker
The tournament is being run by Mark Hopgood and Les Dodd. The George Scott Snooker Club is one of the best snooker clubs in the country and have hosted many professional events. Last month they replaced their snooker match room with 9 brand new Sam Leisure pool tables with powder blue cloth. It really is a great club and the facilities are second to none and it should be a great tournament.

Poolcomps web site "off-air" for maintenance
After a well publicised launch in 2006 with sponsorship of the EPBF's EuroTour, recognition from the WPA, and the establishing of a very popular affiliate programme, it appears that there may be problems at Poolcomps.com.
After promising $100,000 world tournaments at first, and boasting of being the "Home of the Official Online Pool World Championships", the prize funds were scaled down firstly to $10,000 and then to a more modest $500 tournament regime, albeit with 3 tournaments a day.
More recently they have completely suspended cash prize tournaments until further notice, and after refunding current player's fees, this latest development appears rather ominous for the Australian venture.
