Uzzell lags in the Thailand Masters
Uzzell takes down Thailand Masters 9 Ball event.
Paul Elcombe arrived back from Bangkok recently and mentioned he was lucky enough to see Kevin Uzzell win the Thailand Masters.
In the final, Uzzell trailed 10-8 before winning the last 3 racks to take the 1000 GBP 1st prize.
The other finalist was a 21 year old Thai called Nittiwat, remember this lad, he's good, in the semi final he beat the 5th or 6th ranked Taiwanese player.

The two finalists in the Rileys Victoria King of the Hill
MAJID AND CORREIA TAKE THE HONOURS AT VICTORIA LEAGUE FINALE
A total of 28 runners plus Martin Correia who was the 2006 King of the Hill attended this special end of year handicapped event, the summation of a years endeavour for the Victoria league players.
The format was five rounds of 16 groups round robins. The group results are below.
There were a couple of players thought that they would not get far but surprised themselves with great performances like Soni and Ed Sumner.

2006 WPA World 8 Ball Championships Qualifier 2 Spots Available
A few people have asked how they can qualify for the Official World 8 Ball Championships (held for the last two years in Fujairah, one of the United Arab Emirates)... Well, here's how!
Conveniently located at the now familiar House Of Billiards in Weert, this event will be double elimination until the last 16, limited to 64 players and the entry fee is 100 Euros and the top two finishers qualify.

The 8-Ball Battle of Scandinavia
Since there is a major interest for joining the Special 9-ball Event on Thursday evening during the 8-ball Battle of Scandinavia, I have, together with the 8 already registered players, decided to open it up for 16 players.
The entry fee to join this 9-ball event will be 500 €, and all entries will return in price money. The winner of the event will receive 6 000 €, runner up will get 1 000 € and the losing semi-finalists will both get 500 € each.
Format will be 9-ball race to 9, alternate break. All players are guaranteed 2 matches. Round 1 will start Wednesday evening, and the rest of the play will continue Thursday evening.

APN-Leagues National Championships
You are cordially invited to the APN-Leagues National Championships, to be held at Rileys Harrow on the 5th, 6th and 7th January 2007. Rileys Harrow have already hosted a number of successful APN-League events and we are extremely pleased to be returning to this excellent North London club for our National Finals.
As well as the main event, APN will be hosting a number of smaller tournaments and competitions so even if you are not on the qualified players list (see below) – it’s still worth turning up as there’ll be plenty to do!
Friday night is optional. Kicking off at around 7pm £5/man flyers are the order of the evening together with some scotch doubles action (£10/team) and perhaps some ring games – players willing!

The Second Round of The Pro Team League
I would like to invite you for the second round of the Pro Team League. This day will be held on Saturday the 23rd of December in Raxx in Groningen. After the last round in Nootdorp we have got two teams leading the competition, Dijkjes F&M Tornado's and Club 8. We also have four teams on the fourth place, Sapenta Blaak, Dijkje Duinzigt, Thurston/Mezz Cues and Infinity Wageningen. A lot of teams with equal points. Will this round in Groningen change all of that? It sure will be an exciting day.

Major changes For Tournaments to keep you entertained all week!
Our team at PoolComps.com have decided to take a different approach in regards to tournaments. This week will see ( 10 $500 tournaments and 1 $5,000 Major tournament ) as apposed to ( 1 $10,000 weekly Major tournament ). We decided to take this approach to enable a daily flow of tournaments 7 days per week.
The tournament structure for the daily $500 will run the same way as our major tournaments but with a difference. You will need to win 2 rounds in the first stage instead of 1 round. Stage two will be a fixed draw format and matches will start at certain times.

University of Nottingham Triumph in Universities Nine-Ball Championship
Riley’s Solihull was treated to a feast of pool, as University of Nottingham became only the second university to win the Team Championship defeating University of Gloucestershire in a keenly contested final. The Individual Championship was taken back to Wales with an irresistible performance from Emmanouil ’Manos’ Paspatis (Cardiff).
