Ralf Souquet talks to Pro9.co.uk about the WPC and the Mosconi Cup
Ralf Souquet started playing pool at the age of six and won his first German Championship at the age of fourteen. In 1997 he received the 'Silberne Lorbeerblatt' (the "Silver Laurel Leaf"), the highest distinction for sportsmen in Germany, presented by the German President, Roman Herzog.
Now he is known as the "Emperor", the "Master", the "Kaiser" of pool... He's been there and done it. World Championships, EuroTours, Mosconi Cups, US Opens, World Pool Masters... He's played in them all, and won most.
How does he feel about his recent performance at the World Pool Championships? Did he win the Silver Medal? Or LOSE the Gold? How is he preparing for the Mosconi Cup? What can Europe do differently to improve their chances of winning?

First Round starts on Saturday
Imran Majid has signed up for the Pro Team League, Europe's premier team pool league - Eight Teams play 9-Ball, 8-Ball, Straight Pool, and 8-Ball Doubles in a league format.
The league draws the cream of Euro talent, National, European and World Champions including Nick van den Berg, Germany's Oliver Ortmann and Tom Storm from Sweden. Imran has joined team "Thurston/MEZZ" and his team mates include Swiss number 1 Marco Tschudi and Dutchman Huidji See.
The first event takes place at the newly opened Dijkje Nootdorp pool/billiard club on 25 November 2006 and there will be live-scoring at the ProTeamLeague.nl website.

Niall Sweeney who hails from Cootehall in Boyle Co. Roscommon has made history by becoming the very first player from Roscommon county to ever to win an official ranking pool tournament in the history of Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour.
The Roscommon teenager potted his way to victory winning his first official junior 9-ball ranking tournament on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour at the weekend defeating John Mc Ginley (Donegal) 7-4 in the final of the 2006 Co. Donegal Junior Open 9-Ball Pool Championships.

Jasmin Ouschan celebrates her WPA World Number 1 Ranking
What does it take to become the World Number 1? Jasmin Ouschan was destined for it.
Born in Austria in January 1986, her parents owned a billiard club in Klagenfurt for 20 years and she still remembers her first pool experience at the age of three. It was difficult for her to reach the pool tables, so she had her own tiny table at home, but all she ever wanted was to play on the bigger tables. At the age of six her parents spotted she had a special talent so she got her own trainer, and he is still her trainer and coach today.
Pro9 are pleased to print an exclusive interview with Jasmin, about how she started in pool, how she practices and her hopes for the future.
