IPA Tour Event 3 – The Scottish Open 13th June 2015 Glasgow
The World's best 8-ball pool players are coming to town on the weekend of the 13th to 14th of June for the renowned IPA Scottish Open, to be held at the picturesque Erskine Bridge Hotel.
With a massive £12,000 in guaranteed prize money and a double elimination format (so more frames for your money), it comes as no surprise to see all the top ranked players in attendance (both professionals and amateurs), with not one but three trophies up for grabs (Open, Professional, and Amateur).
Add the HD quality live streaming that suits players and fans alike, and the opportunity to play with and against the very best to hold a cue, and it is no wonder the event is almost full a fortnight in advance, but for those interested there are still a couple of places up for grabs – full details are on the IPA web site (www.ipapool.com) along with the rest of the UK tour.

Staveley continues to be the man in form at Total9ball
Saturday 23rd May saw Total9ball return to the Hurricane Room in St Albans for episode four of the 2015 Amateur Series. For the fourth event running T9B put together 32 of the best amateur players the UK has to offer, with players travelling from all over the country to be part of this prestigious Series, which is now in its 6th season. These events really do take some winning.
Matches kicked off at 10.30am and as always it was hard to predict a winner of this handicap event. The results were flying in before we knew it.
Total9ball are always looking for ways to increase the fun factor for players and spectators. For this event we introduced the T9B pick 10 prediction side game. The entry was £5, the idea was to predict the winners of 10 selected matches with the entrant with the most correct match winners collecting the cash prize. All money paid in was paid out and it was Mark Williams who collected the £70 prize. Mark predicted 8 out of 10 matches correctly. Well done Mark!

Superstar field announced for Manchester
WITH THE 2015 PARTYPOKER WORLD POOL MASTERS set to take place at the iconic Victoria Warehouse, Manchester from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August, Matchroom Sport can announce the field for the 23rd annual pocket billiards showdown.
Sporting a $20,000 top prize, the Masters aims to bring together some of the biggest names from around the world to contest what is the game’s most sought-after title.
Heading the field will be defending champion Shane Van Boening (USA) as well as former champs Darren Appleton of England and Holland’s Niels Feijen, winners in 2009 and 2013, respectively.
Making his Masters debut is current World No.1 Carlo Biado of the Philippines and he will be joined by fellow Asian players Ko Pin Yi of Taiwan, the current WPA World 10 Ball champion, and China’s Liu Haitao, the current World No. 6.
Scotland’s Jayson Shaw, currently one of the form players, will be competing as will Karl Boyes who closed out 2014 with wins at the World Cup of Pool and the Mosconi Cup. John Morra, who last played as a qualifier in 2010, is back to represent Canada.
2014 runner-up Nikos Ekonomopoulos (GRE) will be back as will Waleed Majid, representing Qatar and the Middle East. James Georgiadis of Australia, who came so close to upsetting Van Boening last year, returns as does 2012 runner-up Mateusz Sniegocki of Poland.
Finally, all-time Masters legend Ralf Souquet of Germany makes a welcome return. A big favourite down the years with UK audiences, ‘the Kaiser’ has been crowned Masters champion on no less than six occasions.

TICKETS ARE NOW on sale for the 2015 PARTYPOKER WORLD POOL MASTERS which plays out for the 23rd time this summer. The Masters is pool’s longest running invitational event and the list of champions contains some of the greatest names ever to wield a cue.
Taking place from Friday 14th to Sunday 16th August at the vibrant Victoria Warehouse near Salford Quays in Manchester, there are five sessions in total with tickets available exclusively from SeeTickets.com.
The PartyPoker World Pool Masters features 16 champions from around the world including defending champion Shane Van Boening as well as former champs Darren Appleton and Niels Feijen.
In addition World No.1 Carlo Biado of the Philippines will be making his UK debut, while Scotland’s dominant Jayson Shaw will be competing in the Masters for the first time since 2010.

Three Champions Crowned At One T9B Event
Saturday 9th May Total9ball was back at St Albans Hurricane Room for event two of their Undisputed Series. This time the event was run a lot differently, players were broken down in to three separate 16 player tournaments separated by standard. There was a lot of hype about this event as it really was very open and all player were in with a chance of having a winning day at T9B.
The problem Total9ball faced was the date chosen wasn’t the best as it clashed with a large English pool event which meant many players were unable to attend as already commited. T9B have a very heavy calendar and it’s not easy to change dates so there was a lot more promotion work put in by T9B owners Mark Parker and Phil Wildman, in the end we produced in our opinion and by feedback one of best events in our history.

MEZZ CUES BALTIC POOL LEAGUE KICKED OFF IN RIGA
The first event of the Mezz Cues Baltic Pool League was held in Riga, Latvia. Bams Pool House was once again kind enough to offer their Dino Sport Pro tables to hold the event. The first winners of the 2015 season are Denis Grabe (Estonia) and Agné Jaruśauskaite (Lithuania).
GRABE LEFT NO QUESTIONS ON THE TABLE
In mens division Denis Grabe left no questions on the table when crashing Vitalijs Spaks from Latvia. The latvian showed great composure when reaching the final on the winners side by sending home such great players like Dmitri Chuprov from Belorus (semi final 8:6), Estonian Mark Mägi (Mägi lead 6:2!) and Henrikas Strolis from Lithuania. Nevertheless Grabe was just too big fish to catch and 8:1 loss in the final was a fact. Grabe managed to win his fellow countryman Joonas Saska in the semi final by 8:4.
It must be mentioned that Latvian Anna Prisjaźnuka who has won many womens stages tried her skills in mens division as well. The result was not bad as she finished seventeenth only to lose a hill-hill thriller.
