It's back for Event 2 of the six tournament season of a new tour format by inspired genius Stephen Capaldi - a unique pool tour featuring no less than 5 different ways to finish in the money, with all five opportunities included in one entry fee.
Like other events, the central focus is the single elimination 9-Ball tournament, but there's more, including a plate event, a 1 rack knockout, and a sweepstake raffle, as well as a thrilling golden break prize - all excellent value and a super fun day of pool to boot!
Once again, Rileys Meadowbank is the venue for all six annual events, the first was held in March and was well received by the competitors, and with so many prizes on offer, the list of winners was full of happy punters. Chris Pringle won the main event and picked up £320 for his troubles. Michael Valentine took the runner up spot and won £150, while semi finalists - Davie Jack and Joni Holden earned £75 each. The £80 top prize for The Plate competition was won by tournament organiser Stephen Capaldi, while Andy Morris collected £40 for his runner's up place. The "DeathMatch" winner was Gary Houston who won £80 and Kyle Smith had Gary in The Sweepstake so Kyle took the £25 prize for that!

The amateur series is now in its third season, this time it will be run slightly different with the league stages removed and the double chance format used. T9B double chance events seem to be the most popular format we use, we believe the reason behind this is because it offers unbeatable value, players are entered into the draw twice which means players can lose a match but still be the overall winner, it guarantees each player 2 tense knock-out matches and also means each entrance has the opportunity to get in the prize money twice. Feedback regarding these event has always been fantastic and therefore we feel using this format is the way to get the most players involved.

Van den Berg and Melling maintain lead
FOLLOWING on from the Austrian Open which concluded on Saturday 2nd June, Chris Melling and Nick Van den Berg look on course to collect their second and sixth caps respectively as they maintain their positions as Nos.1 and 2 on the 2012 PartyPoker.com Mosconi Cup European rankings.
Melling failed to make the last 32 in Austria but had enough points in the bank to stay in the top 2 while Van den Berg$B!G(Bs top 16 finish allowed him to step over the Englishman to take the top spot.
The biggest mover was Austrian Open champion Nikos Ekonomopoulos, who continued a good run of form as he ousted Poland's Wojciech Szewczyk in the final to take maximum points from the event.
The 30 year-old Greek, had defeated Marcus Chamat, David Alcaide, Mario He, Bruno Muratore and Darren Appleton en route to the final and his confidence will be sky high as the players head to Qatar and the World 9 Ball Championship later this month.

Following on from it’s successful debut event in 2011, players will be pleased to hear that the impressive ‘Golden 8 Ball’ pool weekend will be returning back to the Norbreck Castle Hotel in Blackpool from the 15th - 17th June 2012.
The spectacular arena and quality playing conditions witnessed last year has created an air of excitement and anticipation amongst Blackball players, with many of last year’s teams returning with more players in tow!
What started out as just a ‘four player team event’ has quickly evolved to encompass an open singles, ladies singles and mixed doubles event, all with a combined GUARANTEED prize fund of £8,000 with a top prize of £2,000 for the team champions and £800 for the singles champion!
Teams can be of mixed gender and are allowed one professional player and up to four reserve players, with no limits to international or county players.

Exciting matches decided the final two European participants this year
Tuesday, 05 June 2012: After the Dynamic Euro-Tour in St. Johann, Austria, the EPBF hosted a qualifier for two spots for this year's Party Poker World Cup of Pool. The Party Poker World Cup of Pool will be played in Manila, Philippines, September 4th through 9th It will be organized by MatchroomSport. The World Cup of Pool will be aired live in the Philippines on Solar Sports from September 4 to 9. Matchroom Sport will also produce 31 x one-hour highlights programs, which will be broadcast around the world.
The heat was on in the Ballazzo Billiard Bar in St. Johann when the teams from Serbia, Estonia, Denmark, Hungary, Greece, Ireland, Norway, and Slovenia fought for the remaining two spots. The format was a scotch double with two players per team, playing 9-ball race to 8, winner breaks. After the preliminaries were done, the two final matches were Serbia v Denmark and Greece v Hungary.
