Efren visits Norway, but he doesn't get it all his own way!

Vegar Kristiansen from Trondheim in Norway has beaten Efren "Bata" Reyes by a score of 9-3 in the final match of the much anticipated Bergen Open hosted by the Kong Oscar Biljardsalong in Bergen.

The open format of the event gave Norwegian pool players as well as pool fans a rare opportunity to see "The Magician" playing on European soil, and as expected, Efren made short work of his opponents in the early rounds, but it didn't all go his own way in the final, as the experienced Vegar Kristiansen - one of the best players in Norway and a regular Norwegian representative on the Euro Tour, ended Efren's hopes with a 9-3 victory in the final.

US Open Champions Collide!

It had to happen, people wanted it to happen, Accu-Stats have made it happen... Britain's Darren Appleton and Finland's Mika Immonen, between them, these two Champion Pool Players hold the last four consecutive US Open titles, but who will win the day in a head-to-head 10 ball face-off?

The very affordably priced Pay-Per-View is also perfectly timed for European "night owls" who want to watch this epic battle... Starting on Friday night at around midnight for Londoners and a little later for Central and Eastern Europeans - and frankly, there's more pride at stake here than anything else we've seen so far this year, so it'll be worth burning the midnight oil.

Earlier this week Pro9 asked Mika Immonen about this event, and how much money was being staked on it, he had this to say, "Well we didn't really talk about the bet yet maybe this week. One thing is for sure: I'd like to win. Ok that's a given but when you really think about it it's us who combined have won the last four US OPEN titles. It would be nice to win this challenge for that reason alone. I do expect it to be tight but I think I have a little edge when it comes to the push out after break. Darren is a great player I know he will come prepared and that's what I'm doing as well. I'm looking forward to it."

Rodney Morris Wins Wyoming Open

Saratoga, Wyoming- Rodney "Rocket" Morris won his second time in Saratoga at this year's 5th Annual Wyoming Open. He went through a talented field of 8-Ball players that included the likes of Charlie Williams, Raj Hundal, Amar Kang, Mark Tadd, Tony Piazza, Mark Vidal, and more. The event was sponsored by Poison Cues by Predator and Asia's #1 cloth Andy Cloth will be the official cloth used during the event.

The Wyoming Open drew nearly 150 players from Colorado, Utah, Wyoming and of course the top pros which came from England, Florida, and California. There were a total of 5 events including the opening night Saratoga Open, and the 8-Ball main events with Sportsman, Classic, Masters, and Ladies divisions.

"Almost all the divisions were full, so I'm really ecstatic about that. There will definitely be a 6th Annual Wyoming Open next year. I plan on making the event bigger and better for all the players and divisions. We always want improvements", says EJ Glode, promoter of the Wyoming Open.

In the Classic Division which was hosted for intermediate level players, Ronnie Chavez defeated Chris Wilson in the 64 man field. Jordan Thayer and Chris McCreary rounded out the top 4.

Poland and Spain take the final medals of Dynamic European Championships

aturday, 31 March 2012: The last two medals of this years Dynamic European Pool Championships were taken by the Polish womens team and the Spanish mens team.

In the womens final, Oliwia Czuprynska drew first blood for the Polish team by winning her 8-ball match over Ine Helvik with 6:2. Line Kjoersvik tied the match result to 1:1 by winning the 9-ball match with 7:2 over Katarzyna Wesolowska. The shootout had to decide. There, the Polish team showed the better nerves and won the match with 5:4.

In the mens team lineup between Germany and Spain, Ralf Souquet got the first point for the Germans by winning his 9-ball over newly crowned Francisco Diaz with 9:2. At that time things looked promising for team Germany. Jentsch and Ederer were both leading in their matches. But then David Alcaide overtook Dominik Jentsch and won the 8-ball match with 8:4. That must have been an incentive for Francisco Sanchez Ruiz. He came from trailing 1:3 to Manuel Ederer and shifted in to overdrive. He allowed one more rack for Ederer to win and finally won the 10-ball match with 8:4 and brought the Gold Medal to Spain.

Piekarski victorious over Novosad

Wednesday, 28 March 2012: After heavy fighting, Konrad Piekarski (POL) in the end was able to eliminate Evgen Novosad (UKR) out of the 9-ball tournament with 9:7.

It was tough for Piekarski to find into the match. Novosad played more solid in the beginning and used his chances to gain a 3:1 advantage over Piekarski. Then suddenly one could feel a jolt in Piekarskis game. The youngster who will soon turn 19 years seemed to get more confidence in his performance. He played much stronger and manage3d to tie the match at 6:6. Novosad seemed to be shocked and could not focus on his game anymore. Thats when Piekarski saw his chance and stone cold won the racks which were needed to take him into the single elimination round of the final 64 players.

Quarterfinals for Chinakhov

Monday, 26 March 2012: In a thrilling encounter, Andreas Gerwen (SWE) wrestled Zoran Svilar (SRB) down with 8:4.

Monday, 26 March 2012: In a classic match, Ruslan Chinakhov (RUS) ousted Bruno Muratore (ITA) with 8:5.
Chinakhov opened the duel with a run out after he won the lag. Muratore gives him the right answer and ran the next rack, making the score 1:1. That was repeated though both of the contestants made a mistake each, but the score after 4 racks was 2:2. All even! It could already be noted then that Chinakhovs break seemed to be a bit better and stronger than Muratores. Again, Chinakhov played without any error and seized his game. Then Muratore played a mistake in the next rack and allowed Chinakhov to take a 2-point advantage over him. All of a sudden, there seemed to be a change in Chinakhovs body language. He looked like he was disgusted with his own game and started missing positions and finally left a shot for Muratore which allowed the Italian to close the gap and tie the match again at 4:4.

Jentsch and Luton also grab the titles

Sunday, 25 March 2012: Jasmin Ouschan (AUT), Dominic Jentsch (GER) and Daniel Luton (GBR) are the 2012 European 10-ball Champions!

Jasmin Ouschan had to deal with youngster Natalya Seroshtan (RUS) in the womens final. That was the exact rematch from last year, when the encounter was a clear affair for Ouschan. Seroshtan, 14-years old at the time, lost 1:6. This year, Ouschan still seemed to be the high favourite for the title. But the match turned out into an unexpected thriller.

Seroshtan played much better than last year. She was already playing well last year but she became much stronger now. She played extremely well, said Ouschan after the final match. Ouschan seemed to struggle much and could not get her momentum going. I just returned from Taiwan before I came here and I feel like I have not enough power at the moment, Ouschan stated. Seroshtan was even able to get a 4:2 lead over Ouschan. But then Jasmin focussed and grew stronger.
