Lawrenson "continuously" heads "straight" for the gold in 14.1!

He was tipped for the top when he had a major result at the previous BPPPA tournament, but surely Matt Lawrenson has exceeded all expectations, entering the record books by winning the 14.1 Continuous "Straight" Pool discipline at the 2006 European Youth Championships.

This is the first time a junior from Great Britain has EVER won a Gold Medal at the European Championships and marks a new milestone for the sport in this country.

Boyes wins Weert Open Qualifier!

A quality field was on show at Rileys Stretford for the first Cuesport UK Eurotour satellite qualifier, the format was double elimination and all matches a race to 7.

In earlier matches on the winners side James Kay had a tough match against former Snooker Legend Paul Medati, Paul was playing his first competitive match in seven months after suffering a trapped nerve so it was good to see him back in action although on the day James Kay was too good beating Medati 7-4, James then went on to beat new young hopeful Brenden Leigh from Derbyshire 7-2.

Phil Morgan, Craig Osborne, Courtney Symons, Oli Waters and Nick Hampton are still collecting money for the monsterous 72 hour pool they completed at Rileys Ipswich!

The charity is the cancer ward at Ipswich Hospital, specifically the children's cancer ward - all proceeds will go directly to the hospital.

They reckon they've got just over £1,000 raised and are really hoping to qualify for Royal Bank of Scotland sponsorship. The bank operates a strict qualifying criteria, but if the lads qualify RBS will DOUBLE their cash raised.
