Another step was taken at the weekend past in the progress of promoting 9-ball pool in Ireland when Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour hosted the first ever All Ireland Senior 9-Ball Pool Championships at TJ’s American Pool Club in Newry Co. Down.

This event was the first of many that Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour has planned for the tour which will see a full list of events, official rankings, reports, results, and photos and will be the stepping stone for all Irish senior pool players who would like to qualify for all individual European and World events as well as represent Ireland in the team event also on the world stage.

For the first event it was a good turn out getting it of the ground which seen some top players highly ranked from the open tour make there way to the Newry venue which also seen the shock of the day when top ranked player Stephen Johnson (Antrim) didn‘t come out of the groups.

The event also seen a good few top snooker players from Dublin and Meath take part in this prestigious first seniors event and no more so than Joe Mc Keever (Meath) who toped is group in the round robin format and then progressed to the final only losing out on a 9-8 score-line after leading throughout the match including a 8-6 lead to the outright winner Ronnie Boyle.

Yes, it was Ronnie Boyle (Tyrone) who captured the tours and his first All Ireland title which also puts him into Ireland’s Hall of Fame by becoming another winner of All Ireland title on Ireland’s American 8 & 9 Ball Pool Tour.
